With photos.

I'll have to circumnavigate the main road but OK. I'm on it.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I was browsing the Motorola website, becoming increasingly irritated by the poor quality English.

And then I realised I was looking at the German website which Chrome was helpfully translating into English.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I'm wondering at what time of the day it's acceptable to crack open the bottle of Champagne that's been on the dining room table since my birthday...

Secondary concern: is it acceptable to drink said champagne from the bottle using a straw because I can't reach the flutes?

6am is fair game I'd say.

It's far too hot. Make champagne ice lollies and no one will know.

.. and no flutes or straws needed

Now that we're warned go for it, including the straw.

I'm on DuoLingo, and all the leaves on my tree are now gold.

If I don't want to lose my streak I have no choice but to tackle the next (much more difficult) section.

It's broccoli and cream, if I cool it the cream fat will coagulate, ick. I think I will get a bunch of popcicles to cool it in our bellies, instead

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Unsure whether to post on the FWP thread or on the "horrible gifts" thread. I was taught that the polite thing to do when receiving an unwelcome gift is thank you, smile, and then toss it in a drawer to never see it again, but I couldn't hold it in this time

My husband is usually very good with gifts, and I have loved every single one of them, from the single sunflower on a difficult day, to the vintage vinyl record player, and everything in between. Until this weekend...

He bought me one of those things that hook up to your computer, house system, phone, etc. and you can talk to. Alexis? Alexia? ...whatever.
Well, I hate the da*n thing, I find it creepy to the n-th power. I felt horrible because he was so excited, but I could not bring myself to lie and he understood. I want that thing nowhere near my house, and it's going back to where it came from ASAP. I hate it. I hate it!!! I looked up the thing, and apparently people are getting their knickers in a twist over this stuff.

Am I the only one who finds this creepy? The only people I want to talk to when I am home alone are myself and my house ghosts, LOL!

Good call, I wouldn't want it in my house either and I'm a tech nerd.

I totally feel your pain. My OH hides the remote so I have to ask Cortana's permission to pause or play next episode etc

Well, screw you Cortana!

Is what I think, until I remember I have no control and she has all the power. So I ask her in my nicest possible voice "Hey Cortana. Play next episode."

And what does she say: "I'm sorry, I didn't get that."

I swear she isn't so dang insolent when my OH is around.

Nope. I can see no need for such a thing except if people want to be even lazier than they are now. Ads are atrocious - "Alexia, turn on the light" when stepping on kids' building blocks in the dark. Well idiot, if you'd turned the light on yourself before entering the room you wouldn't have stepped on them now would you.
