Flippin' heck, Curley. Because I didn't want to gum the thread up with reviews of a book written by and for Austen obsessives. Damned if you don't, damned if you do...

admit it, you got shares and want us all to buy the movie just to find out it is crap.
You could start a separate thread and just upload the movie on it. How about that?

I really couldn't care less whether you like it or not: I think it's highly entertaining and an affectionate take on the genre. Why make such an issue about such a light-hearted thing? Such a strange reaction to something you find bewilderingly trivial. How about you come and play with the rest of us rather than taking swipes from the sidelines, eh?

Wow, curley - what have you done.

I yawned through the flick when it came out and I quite liked all Austen's novels she published. Maybe this should have been through a pm, hahahahah...to curley. Flipping heck, people blow a fuse for nuttin'. FWP.

I ain't got a clue, MC. (I'd have one explanation but that would seriously put me in the bad books).
Yep, I'm all for PM's now

So back to first world problem: I got stuck on EF for too long this morning.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

FFS, Rufus, would you just stop writing posts.. stop making suggestions, asking for things, giving advice or having an opinion.

This is a forum after all, and not what we do..

I am not going to join in with the passive aggressive claptrap or the idiotic nit-picking, will just take you out and give you a good old thrashing instead..

Get a grip!

Why should I ? The comment I replied to was public and I'm betting it was in an attempt to belittle and squash. Badly done. I've said it before: passive aggressive bollocks will get you nowhere fast with me.

This isn't an Austen novel btw, it's by Hale. But you knew that of course... See? Passive aggressive. Not pleasant.

Enjoy your day, ladies. Sincerely. Get the hooks out, both literally and metaphorically. Crocheting/knitting is good for the soul.

Damnit, woman, would you stop being so straight forward and clear with everything you say? How are we all to manage when you shoot from the hip like that?

I know. Me and my saying what I mean... it has to stop, clearly.

Shall I put the kettle on? There are some lovely scones in the tin on the side.

Hehehe. She's a daft bezom. Makes the 19th c novel question in the GCSE lit a bit redundant now...

FWP: politicians.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I see no passive agressive, lol. I see people disagreeing and being actually polite. Another major FWP. Polite disagreements are labeled as indirect and unwanted, while straight out personal stuff as direct and desired.

Curley, same here. Got my own writing to tend to, although this is more fun, so is debating Austen and wannabes.

You should investigate that thoroughly, in the name of, er, scientific research.
