I wanted to sleep in while it's nice and cool but the neighbor started trimming hedges at 8:30.

Right. Sure beans.

My FWP today is fatigue, falling off them yoga poses isn't so graceful.

"Encountered plantar fasciitis and cannot do too much involving feet at the moment."

I have a bunion and it gives me the long range weather forecast i.e. if it throbs on Sunday it's going to rain on Thursday. Husband refers to it as "My Left Foot"

Grether's Pastilles were the wrong ones!

No volunteers to do the foot massage so I will befriend a tennis ball.

I took a 10-day long break from jogging and tennis altogether, only do low impact sports like cycling at the moment. Plenty of stretching also helps.

I bought some massage balls from Amazon a few years back. The one with little spikes on it is fantastic for the feet! The one that's like a tennis ball is better on the hip.

The TV remote in skillful hands is also a good way of knocking off the pain.

Ice packs help, 5 minutes twice daily!

The water in Annecy lake confuses us, the beautiful turquoise color is very tropical.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I have had a whinge a few pages ago about owners not writing if lost pets have been found. Yesterday we had a poster on the bus shelter about a lost little sod. Today there was another poster saying the little booger was found, along with a nice photo of the found cat.

Generally, it's not a whinge, but a boast that someone may have read the original whinge and acted on it.
Now I have nothing to complain about - yes, my head is firmly buried in the sand (brexit, climate, etc)...

kompootor has no particular reputation at present
Re: First World Problems

Here's my perennial FWP, both in CH and USA:

I try to buy all the kitchenware I need from the Salvation Army (which I browse monthly) where silverware is about 1/2 CHF per utensil, a mug or glass or dish is 2 CHF, etc. Always better to reuse than to buy new, even if it all looks mismatched.

But then once a year I visit a megastore (last week I visited Ikea) where I discover silverware at 10 for 3 CHF, glasses at .90 each, dishes for 1 CHF, etc., all new and sparkling and matching!

Serves us right for our social conscience. F... M... L!

I think you did well. Also for recycling. I buy clothes in thrift stores and turn them into chic ones, by taking them apart and redoing them completely. FWP happens once a while when I realize that after a few hrs of work they don't fit.

Re: First World Problems

Here´s one.
I had to give my company Mercedes back to the leasing company and got a brand spanking new Passat with all the Glocken und Pfeifen to junket around in.
It´s a nice car but what annoys me is that when you are on the Motorbahn going at a fair lick I find that lesser cars don´t move out of the way as spryly when they see a Passat in the rear view mirror as they did in the Mercedes.
