When you keep rearranging your bedroom in order to please the plant yet keep it as far away as possible from the bed.

Next project: I put my bed on wheels!

Why not put the plant on wheels?
Otherwise you might roll away in your dreams.

It already is on wheels (to make sure no water is collected underneath it) but plants don't like to be moved on regular basis (like every night).

Anyway, the wheels I want under my bed are about being sick and tired of the difficulties re moving it for hoovering/cleaning. One solution of course would be to get more body weight but that does not seem appealing really.
I've been researching all evening about how the heck I can get them - and safely - onto my existing bed. There is not enough contact face for the mounting panel and I have not figured out how those with a stick are actually mounted as just drilling a hole won't do. (There are wheels with brakes, btw )

Anyway, that would be for an other thread. No EF-er ever mounted wheels on their existing bed yet?!

Yes, some years ago I had an excellent job done by a carpenter, whom I'd gladly recommend. I will PM you his contact details.

Thank you for the address. I like to do these kind of things myself though. I'm now in the 'what casters' stage. Rubber would be good but leaves marks on parquet - who knows what it does to it if you don't move the bed for a while, in summer .

However, time to let this thread go back to first world problems now

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I waited 7 (seven) weeks for a garlic crusher (amazon). Yesterday it said "delivery today". Today it said, the parcel may have been lost.

And now I just learnt, I ordered a garlic crusher in ....... Cameroon!

Carbon footprint guilt might be your other FWP.

Mine today is that one of my piano keys got quiet. E1 precisely. I feel like Cuban jazz musicians having to compose around missing keys after Russians left the country and pianos maintenance with them...

It is un-nerving.

Naaaa, the parcel never got to me, remember?

I ordered in Germany, that's next door. And it said "in stock". Okay, maybe next time I should check where that warehouse is.

edit: I did eventually.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Got a new dishwasher. It backfills. So I try the supplier to get the onsite service triggered. They give me a number to call, which is never answered. I call back. I get another number. I call them... another number to try. I call them - what is the device? A dishwasher. Oh, you need this number. Call that number, oh, you just need to register at sertronics.ch

It would have been so nice to simply have that in the documentation supplied with the dishwasher!

(Actually, it may be... I should check. )

I love the current weather! If it was 5-10 degrees warmer, I'd still be in shorts ...

This morning I forgot I left 3 cans of sweetened milk in a pot filled with water on the stove, at full power, for over 90min. ALL the water evaporated, and I think I may have ruined the ceramic cooktop

Was it some kind of pasteurization experiment? Caramel making?

Sorry about the mishap..I grew up on condensed milk in a tube (like a toothpaste), we lived on it. I saw it here too.

Did you make caramelco by mistake?

Yes, making caramel to use in my kid's 12th birthday party cake. In Argentina it's called "Dulce de Leche", and it's just like ambrosia, but better.

Oh yeah, I've heard of that! I'd put a ton of coarse salt on it and it would be my bday cake!

Good luck with the stove. Reminds me when I forgot a muffin form in the oven, with its plastic lid on that is used to transport the muffins in. And preheated the oven. It smelled like a resin production plant, for weeks.
