Why not?

But what do I do with, say, a book from a Japanese author written in French???

Three solutions:

1. Organise alphabetically by author without regard for the language it's written in (of course, you'll have to decide which alphabet to use for this!)

2. Organise by language and then alphabetically by author.

3. Have a separate section for 'stuff written in the wrong language'.

My personal preference would be for option 2, as reading in foreign languages is a real pain for me and I like to keep all the difficult stuff together, but if you're a fluent reader in all those languages, then option 1 might be the most sensible.

i want to say arrange them by colour..

how about just buy them all again in english, its such a rich language, french can't really capture all the nuances that english can?
I would say try to get a tablet's PDF version of the book or scan them all as it is much easier to manage electronic data base!

Rich language indeed. The other day did shopping with my Canadian friend and when I mentioned to dump stuff in the boot she didn't know what I was talking about Trunk word worked better though.

Today in corporate, I've finished my job faster than expected and I'm worried that if I carry on at this rate, I might become redundant soon. Touch wood!
Need advice how to slow down

I muster up my courage to order food in Swiss and do a reasonably good job at it. Then the waiter starts speaking to me in English. :/

My drive to work is 1 hour but my favourite podcasts only last 45 mins.
Either I listen to 1 and 1/3 of a podcast or 1 podcast and 15 minutes of Swiss radio as filler

Re: The First World Problem Thread

A couple of months ago, I went to buy a car. I was expecting a fun afternoon with the car salesman, with the usual questions about if my husband approves; shouldn't I go discuss it with the person paying for it if he's happy with it, he he; am I sure this is what I want and not something smaller and ladylike etc etc.

And nothing! Nothing, I tell you. No sexist questions or comments whatsoever. What's the world coming to?

Do you have fajitas?

Cut them in triangle and put in in the oven on grill. As good without the salt.

Yeah, but they were used to wrap up the meat and veg and other yummy-ness. Had I known in advance we were out, I would have just made my own chips but it was one of those days.

I can run on a treadmill for around half an hour. Decided to get some fresh air and run outside today and the earphones wouldn't stay in and I got a paralysing stitch. Won't be doing that again!
