I've been shopping here for almost 5 years and every time I tell you that I don't have a Supercard... What makes today the day that I finally see the light?

I went to the toilet with my phone. I usually get 4G but could only get 3G (which doesn't work for some reason) so had to leave as soon as my dump was finished

ah but! a Supercard costs nothing, and I'm now and again asked if I'dl like to pay for all my fish, veg etc. with Supercard points I've hardly been aware of collecting over the years.

Bloody weather.
I agree! This morning it was snowing.

Then after I`d breakfasted after sleeping late (because it was snowing) - found the sun shining and blue skies, so decided to go for a nice walk in sunshine.

Took some time to decide which shoes to wear and which jacket ....... and then it was snowing again!

At this rate am thinking I`ll have to give up sleeping late and /or going for walks.

I'm using my iPad to learn how to use my Macbook, when I don't really understand either.
Why is life so complicated?

I hope for your sake you'll never meet my daughter! At 2.5 she's so good with an iPad she scares me!

I sent my Johnny 5 robot to the moon and now it's experiencing a mechanical control abnormality due to the moon's complicated lunar surface environment.

I think it's b0rked.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Wine and book problems, sigh...

Wine: I like a nice glass of red from one of my favorites after dinner. Problem is, I cannot drink the whole bottle by myself and I cannot find one-portion bottles of my favorites, and if I open the bottle and just drink one glass, savig the rest for the next day, it tastes awful. No special corks, etc. work. I think I am doomed

Books: once upon a time, I only bought books I could read in their original language, so, easily enough, I always arranged them neatly by language. Then, realizing I was missing out on a lot of awesome literature, I started buying books in languages other than the original, and just stacked them at my parents'. Now that I finally have my own place, the time has come to have all my books shipped and arrange them. But what do I do with, say, a book from a Japanese author written in French???

The problem arises because, one evening, I might want to browse Japanese literature, but another, I might feel like reading something in French. Any suggestions?

i want to say arrange them by colour..

how about just buy them all again in english, its such a rich language, french can't really capture all the nuances that english can?

Why not?

Three solutions:

1. Organise alphabetically by author without regard for the language it's written in (of course, you'll have to decide which alphabet to use for this!)

2. Organise by language and then alphabetically by author.

3. Have a separate section for 'stuff written in the wrong language'.

My personal preference would be for option 2, as reading in foreign languages is a real pain for me and I like to keep all the difficult stuff together, but if you're a fluent reader in all those languages, then option 1 might be the most sensible.

I would say try to get a tablet's PDF version of the book or scan them all as it is much easier to manage electronic data base!

Rich language indeed. The other day did shopping with my Canadian friend and when I mentioned to dump stuff in the boot she didn't know what I was talking about Trunk word worked better though.

Today in corporate, I've finished my job faster than expected and I'm worried that if I carry on at this rate, I might become redundant soon. Touch wood!
Need advice how to slow down

I muster up my courage to order food in Swiss and do a reasonably good job at it. Then the waiter starts speaking to me in English. :/
