What microwave??? I don't have one!
I hate cooking, so I do food for 2-3 days, and then heat it up in the microwave.

It's also great to warm the kiddies' milk, it doesn't dirty a saucepan!

How do you cook your tatties and veggies then? Don't tell me you go through all than old-fashioned business of heating water up and boiling them for half an hour? What a faff.

Well not half an hour, I don't like mush. But yeah, old fashioned pan or even oven-roasting.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

It took me two weeks and a half to decide where to and which hotel to book for ski holidays starting on Monday. Never mind my wife's irritation, I must admit I have lost my touch completely. Clearly it must be a sign of me getting old.

For some reason water boiled in a saucepan rather than a kettle doesn't taste right for tea.
Obviously a new saucepan would be fine, but my 30 year old stainless steel ones certainly aren't to good for that, even though they're veryclean.
I have two very old pans I use for making tea, and they are perfect

Reminds me that I missed the opportunity for your dear wife to prepare me a real English cuppa, so that I can learn what I'm missing!

That being said, I do not like to use the microwave to heat water for tea or coffee either...

Why would I want to complicate my life so much? I keep drinking ice tea. It eliminates need for all these complicated appliances you are referring to and it doesn't burn my tongue in process either.

For some reason, my Starbucks Gold card didn't work this morning and I had to actually tell the barista my name.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I bought a Belkin cable for the phone and found their logo is underneath.
I can either put the phone face down so that anyone who might wander by can see I have a Belkin cable or face up so they can see the hotness of my phone...

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I had to buy a replacement inhaler for the Belltie - and the price in Switzerland was over twice what I paid back home. I was going to grumble on the 'Swiss Prices' thread...

...but then realized that anything pertaining to using an inhaler designed for canines is... erm... pretty much the definition of a first world problem.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Except that the twice-as-expensive-here-as-in-the-rest-of-the-world product is designed and made in Canada.

(I imagine that little sticker reading 'distributed in Switzerland by...' added significantly to the product's excellency and superiority, though. )

But back to first world problems...
