I love football! Especially with games like these. Stunning performance (im not Dutch nor Spanish, mind you)

Didn't like that the Dutch won. What a massacre.

This is a problem thread - your love of football shouldn't be a problem for you right now, whereas my disdain for it certainly is!

Rubbish, people who hate football absolutely delight in telling everyone they hate football during the world cup

Re: The First World Problem Thread

OMG! I've been too hot for like 3 days now and I'm living in a society, that thinks more of the environment than how sweaty I am, with a serious lack of chilled air machines!

What's going on people??? Back home everyone sucked up energy turning their personal spaces into fridges, and environmental consequences be damned!

Why aren't they wasting energy like that here? I think that the excess heat created by these machines is a bonus for the homeless people, who might otherwise have been too cold sleeping on the streets.

Do you people hate the homeless??!!

It's truly warm this couple of days. But I got a running nose instead
I guess I'm a tropical girl after all

My co-workers were unnaturally helpful and unobstructive today. This was most disconcerting and rather irritating as I was expecting the current task to take me neatly to the weekend, not actually be finished shortly after lunch.

I gave up my seat so some English tourists could enjoy a better view of the Walensee, and they spent the rest of the journey grumbling about how disappointing it was.

I travelled 3km to Germany to buy my whisky and found all the shops closed -- it`s a public holiday in Germany! Why was that not on my Swiss calendar? I could have stayed in bed. Instead I pulled out some weeds in garden to make getting up worth while for the day.

Well, at least they have something to tell people about Switzerland now.

True.

It's made me wonder, though: am I doing the right thing by being nice to tourists like this, or would I be better just minding my own business?

I'm beginning to think the latter course of action is the best. After all, even the wrong side of the train is probably lovely to people who don't travel the same route six or eight times a week, and who wants to be bothered by some know-it-all ersatz local?

From now on, I'll grab the best seats, stick my headphones in my ears and pretend that nobody else exists. That way everyone will be happy.

Ja, just stay in your seat. And every now and again make astounded sounds like .... "Oooohh WOW!" while gazing out the window - swivel head to keep looking at the passed by scenery (Mr Bean style).

Don't forget to put your bag on the seat so no one can sit next to you and disrupt your peaceful commute.

I have given up my seat so someone else could enjoy the view, but they must be under the age of 12 with VERY ANNOYING parents banging on LOUDLY about minding their manners
