My wife bought an air conditioner today (which of course I had to install), and now it's raining and cool!

I miss having a driver and a maid. I suck at household chores and I don't want to drive.

After many days of rain we finally got a few minutes of feeble sun today. And I managed to get sunburnt!
Could never happen in the developing world. They have sunscreen.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

True story

My beloved Philips rotating blades shaving machine has broken down hours ago after over five years of impeccable service. Probably the battery is dead flat and it doesn't recharge anymore.

I had to use cheap plastic traditional Wilkinsons blades and shaving foam. What a disappointment it was when I cut myself. I guess I will need to wait till Monday and buy me the latest model.

I'm wearing shorts and my Macbook is too cold on my legs when I start it up, and too hot after it runs a while.

McDonalds breakfast at Zürich Enge station has only one type of Mcmuffin.

And it's 10 now and we probably won't make it there before it finishes.

My mountain bike headlight doesn't work properly anymore (Trelock); it's a pitty when you move production from Germany to the third world...die Qualität ist nicht gleich.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Coop has apparently changed green bean suppliers.

Before, the beans were packaged all lined up in neat soldierly rows, tops and tails all pointed the same way. Alles in Ordnung.

In the new packaging, the beans are now all jumbled up topsy-turvey, every which way.

I cannot cope with the chaos.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Close to the ultimate First World Problem article, in the NY Times' "Wealth Matters" section, dedicated to the genuinely wealthy: Easing the Transition From One Nanny to the Next. My favorite snippet:
Quote:
“I interviewed two sisters, and one of them, once her nanny left, she wondered if her sister would be the next to go,” Ms. Wrigley said. “She hadn’t figured out the boundaries of the family.”
Makes you wonder how often these two sisters saw their parents
