Re: The First World Problem Thread

After buying a kids tablet on ebay last week for next to nothing I noticed it had a tiny scratch on the screen.

The new loos at work don't have motion sensors so I have to remember to turn the lights on myself before getting comfortable.

I bought small gifts for the neighbours' children at the Christmas market, then found nicer things on another stall.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Catching the train from Zurich to Lausanne on Sunday evening, the train was so packed that I had to stand for half the journey to Bern, and then managed to move and find a spare stair to sit on for the other half.

At one point, I was standing next to a door being pinned in the corner by luggage and some other "unlucky" passengers who decided to sit down on the floor.

Did my good deed for the ride by holding the doors open at Zurich HB, allowing a mother, aunt (guessing, or grandmother), a young child and a smaller one in a pram to board the train.

Managed to get a seat after half the train disembarked at Bern.

Was only controlled on my ticket after the train left Fribourg. What's the point of asking where I'm going when my ticket clearly indicates that I bought a ticket to Lausanne?

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Packed to the gills m1 metro this morning.

Then, when it couldn't get much tighter, the tl control officers decide to board to check tickets.

One unfortunate gentleman's morning was made a bit worse as he didn't quite disembark the train in time to escape a citation for not having a valid ticket. No, it was not me - I had my ticket

Why? Is it old, uhm - older people thing? A tic?

I got an academic database where I have to double click. I'd prefer touch screens everywhere to be honest.

So - a mouse is my 1st world nag today. Out with it!

I'm annoyed that my salary can be slightly less than 120k. I need to put many aside to the 3rd pillar to lower the tax

Sure, but where's the fun?

It's so much more interesting to glare at me trying to juggle with a full caddy and the 3 kids running wild in the shopping aisles

Re: The First World Problem Thread

The lemon cupcakes I made are flat and dense and might work well as doorstops. I have six packets of brand new, unopened and unexpired baking powder. How could I possibly have pulled out an old packet from 2012 and used that instead?

Take away sushi is damn expensive here. The quality is not all that fantastic compared to the price, either.

No, it's just Coop supermarket, McDonald's, Denner, Fust, a few restaurants and so on. I guess it's mostly foreigners who try to get their food for a full week and so on.
