Of course, then I wouldn't have to pay.

Heard a classic yesterday -

" So annoyed as we are flying to Barbados tomorrow for a months break and it is impossible to hire a car as they are all taken"

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Plus:
  • You can save on the VAT (20%) in the UK if you take goods outside of the UK/EU
  • Switzerland is not a member of the EU
  • Yay for tax free shopping
Minuses:
  • They take a hefty fee out of your refund for admin processing. So the saving is closer to 10% rather than the full VAT.
  • Stansted Airport had no customs officers available for outward processing. So I just had to leave the completed forms/receipts in a mail slot.
  • Weirdest procedures ever. You fill in the forms even though you're supposed to get the export stamp (which is why a customs officer is required - sight goods are leaving the EU), but instead I was told that just put the forms in the slot and they will be stamped (talk about faith). The envelope is requested to be unsealed with forms inside.
  • It's going to take about six weeks to see the rebates on my credit card.
  • It took a chain of four officers (the last one was a duty manager) to find the correct procedure to follow in this instance.

My son's watching habits are screwing up my Netflix account... Because I watched Kung Fu Panda perhaps I would like Lego Ninjago etc..

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I made the mistake of looking at my recent groaned posts. There are so many times when I speak my mind on here, but now I'm worrying about why my preference for wax earplugs is so upsetting to someone.

Just look at DB's groan count. You'll feel better in no time. (of course you have to stick around a while longer to earn that kind of count)

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Just bought two supersaver tickets on CFF (tariffs degriffes) using my laptop.

Should have used the CFF app on my smartphone to do so. Even though I logged into Webshop on my laptop before purchasing, the tickets won't show up on my app when I refresh my ticket list.

Now I have to actually print out my tickets rather than just showing them in the CFF app.

The labels on the innocent orange juice from our local COOP are now all in German so the 'jokes' on the bottles don't make sense anymore.

Got sent a check for over £500 for my UK tax rebate, and now have to post to to someone in the UK to pay it into my account. CHF 1:40 that will cost me!

First time I missed my train tied to a CFF Supersaver ticket. Traffic en route to the station has now cost me an on time arrival and CHF 12.

Prioritise. Most of the news of any interest will appear on EF anyway.
