That silly flash game from the recent Migros frozen yoghurt promotion is addictive.

Swiss National Day (Aug 1st) is on a Saturday, so no day off work and all the shops will be closed

On the other hand, some of us get an extra day of leave for free.

Went into a medium sized Migros on Saturday and swear that I didn't see any spinach leaves. Not big ones, small ones... none. And everything looked fully stocked.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

- The train was 6 minutes late, so I was late to my appointment and didn't have time for coffee

- I was in a rush and didn't notice the back of my skirt had caught in my undergarments when I left the bathroom. Thankfully no one saw me, and I spotted it in the elevator thanks to the mirror on the wall. Well, I think no one saw, maybe if they had security cameras...

- The A/C in the train was not working, and the old lady next to me shut the window so she wouldn't catch a cold from the draft.

- I have a bandaid on my big toe because I tore the toenail...and the friction has created a blister on the toe next to it, so now that toe also requires a bandaid.

- The in-laws are coming for dinner

How's that for a great day? I could use a weekend about now...

The water catch pan to the portable A/C unit is very small. I'm going to have to set my alarm/timer to remind myself to empty it through out the day..........

Re: The First World Problem Thread

The Dyson fan that finally arrived and the packaging has a lot of cardboard which I will have to recyle at some point, thus offsetting the cooling benefit of the fan.

Also the heatwave is due to finish in 24 hours and I've waited for this thing for a week... Using a standard 100 CHF fan like a peasant...

And now turns out I could have bought a portable AC unit!

People sure love their powerful designer fans here!

If the heat wave is due to finish soon (for the remainder of the summer), I'll treasure that more than a FWP about the fan. Hey, you made an investment! Just in case we get another summer like this, and given the way things are going these days, that's not necessarily an outside chance.

Portable AC units are not necessarily all they are cracked up to be. Some may only run for a couple of hours at a time before you need to empty the condensation reservoir (or find some ingenious way to keep it fairly empty so it can keep on running). Add that to their inherent inefficiencies... you might have been fine with your fan investment.

It's a day off for people who normally work Saturdays.

All the shops in Italy, France, Germany, etc. will be open.
