Yeah, tried them on Stewart Island. Loved the whole process from cracking them open to slurping...

Does anyone who says they like oysters actually genuinely enjoy eating them? I reckon it's all for show.
We certainly do.

Raw, fried, smoked, stuffed in a turkey, all great!

I have other, much bigger problems at the moment so this this thread is not useful for me any more. I wish I had those funny problems from before. Maybe I will come back here laughing, who knows.

The airline served the food before the drinks, so I was basically done with my dinner before they brought the wine.

Sounds more like a tactic - had they served you the wine with the meal, there is a good chance you might have wanted another drink after the meal, or even in the middle of the meal.

If it wasn't a US-based airline then I would be rather surprised.

It was a European carrier, long-haul flight. On the first meal they got the order of service correct. On the second the service order was reversed and slow, which was frustrating. But still, clearly a FWP.

Happy New Year!

Presumably you were in cattle class, in which case you have only yourself to blame

Probably more one particular country, but it bugs me that I can never find it on the drop down list, is it Great Britain, Britain, United Kingdom or England (on one recent application for a Canadian eTA it was three of the above in three different drop downs)

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I started reading books in German language; currently Tote Deine Nächsten by Michael Herzig. I read them on my ebook reader which has an English dictionary so if I fail to understand a word I just click on it to get a translation.
Problem is the dictionary does not have all the words.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I started attending the advanced German language course again to refresh my knowledge but the teacher doesn't always write all articles next to the nouns. How am I suppose to differentiate between all those der die das?

Maybe I should put it in the First Word Problems.

Technically, forms should always have Great Britain (GB) as this is the name recognized according to International Standard Organisation (ISO).

If one manages to recognize the ISO currency code of a country then they will easily know the two digit country code. For example, GBP for GB, USD for US, CHF for CH etc etc.
