Re: The First World Problem Thread

Nobody has moved the dead pigeon out of the road in the last 3 days which is leading me towards an existential crisis in which I have to ponder whether anybody will care about me when I die or whether, like the Pigeon, I'll be forgotten?

I find myself silently cursing at SBB when having to wait for the S-Bahn for more than a minute.

...then I remember my time in France, where a train was 1,5h late and in India where we had to "come again next day", because the train did not arrive at all. I did not see anyone complaning in either countries..

MKV becoming the new standard means I need to download a hacked copy of a good file convertor to turn them into MP4 for the Apple TV

I've spent the last hour looking for something to buy on Amazon, so my order qualifies for free shipping.

the superfoods-out-of-stock-thread is also a nice example of a first world problem. Kale is out of stock. High nutrition superfoods for the summer?

I've had to wash my car twice this week due to the bloody pollen. Hayfever sufferers, I sort of feel your pain.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I wish there was a way to synchronise, at least some of, the various radio feeds: FM, DAB, TuneIn App and Internet.

It is frustrating having streams from different sources with a delay between them. With all the technology around, I would have thought that there must be a solution somewhere.

I found an NPR link online - and wanted to download it to my phone to listen on the way home (with my other podcasts). It is still online but doesn't appear to be available as a podcast.

I just entered a Coop draw to win a brand new Fiat 500. If I win, do I sell it, or the 2nd-hand Audi A2 we bought two weeks ago?

If I sleep with the window closed, I simply can't cope nor sleep without fresh air.. but if it's open, I wake up with narrow slits for eyes, itchy eyes, and it feels like I've been kicked in the head.

Oh, I so empathise. Yuck.

And I feel such a miserable bugger when I can't join in with people sitting willy-nilly in the garden...

I open up the windows at night, my wife closes them ... open, close, open close ... ad nauseam.

If we had lived in a windowless Third World clay hut, there wouldn't have been an issue.
