Just for the sake of correctness - today was a Sunday shopping day in Zurich in many areas ;-).

Saw some newspaper pictures of a Trump rally where an "entrepreneur" was selling eggs and tomatoes at the side of the road

There is only one skinny cola bottle in the little Haribo starmix sweet bag I have just opened

EDIT: I have since moved on to a bag of Bombay mix and I cannot stop..

Re: The First World Problem Thread

The remote for the Amazon Fire TV box works by bluetooth, and yet my wife and kids continue to lift and point it at the box as if it were the 1980s.

I find that ever so slightly annoying

Because EF is not mobile optimised, I find that when using my mobile phone to read a thread, I all to often accidentally thank people for posts I have absolutely no interest in!

I had too much for lunch.

Now I'm not just full - but my pants are also too tight.

But did you thank somebody on thread you had no interest in by mistake because your fingers are also now too fat?

My meringue roulade tastes fantastic but is too fat so it rolled rather badly and thus presents quite messy.

Choosing slippers for the next Swiss dinner party: should they match my socks and trousers, or match the carpet at the dinner party?

Ha! I had to have a G&T because I didn't want to waste the half bottle of Fever Tree tonic left over from a friend's visit last night.. not to mention wasting the lemon

Wasting a lemon is a cardinal sin...

Saved! Unwrapped the roulade at destination and it actually presented rather well. Did a great job of impressing many people!

Next problem... I have a boatload of laundry to do and the weather is predicted to be wet, wet, wet almost the entire weekend.

Now for those of you still in CH, where the washer and dryer is a common approach, I'm in Australia where dryers are far less common in favour of the old hanging-up line drying on the Hills Hoist... a bit of a challenge when the heavens open up.

I accidentally poured a tot of milk into my tot of whisky before realizing it was not soda - topped it up with soda, and then had to drink this slightly curdled mixture.

Wasting whisky is a cardinal sin!

Pic? When I think of a roulade I think of a soft, cakey roll so am having trouble picturing this.

I don't have a picture of the one that I made today... as soon as I unwrapped it, someone started cutting it up. Before I could take a picture, within 30 seconds, 75% of the roll was gone.

Here's a couple of photos of a similar roulade which I made last week (similar filling - lemon curd, whipped vanilla cream, fresh blueberries, crusted in walnuts). This post should probably go in the "what you've baked" thread...
