What do you do if you find a long hair in the plate in restaurant?
In restaurant eating with my friend now. He found a very long hair of woman in the plate. We are hesitating whether to tell them to pay attention next time, or just say nothing...

I found a hair in a dish in quite a good French restaurant in Soho some moons ago, I'm not squeemish about stuff like that and it didn't bother me but I certainly thought it was my duty to let the waitress know as I know some people would freak out over it.
She was mortified even though I said I wasn't worried. We had an amazing meal and they refused to charge anything.

What would you do? Are we just being picky?

I don't know...did you pick it up or just left it there?

I pulled what looked to be a long hair out of my food in one restaurant, but in the end it turned out to be a large rabbit. The big floppy ears were a dead giveaway.

Gotta go with grump's reply, I'd tell them and keep eating. If they comp you something, great, if not it's up to you if you return or not (or tip or not). If folks knew what goes on in the average pro kitchen a hair would be the least of their worries
