Temporarily erasable pen

Hi. I'm looking for a kind of pen. I saw it in an ad but I do not remember where...

Basically, after you write something, in a short time (1-2 hrs?) you can erase it, but after that period, the writing becomes permanent.

Anyone has idea where to find it?

Re: Temporarily erasable pen

Any Manor has them as well. They come in two styles and several colours and 0.5 and 0.7mm thickness. They also have a regular style and a retractable style. They have the eraser that lets you erase the text. Cost is from CHF 4.50 to CHF 5.50.

The kids use them at school here in VD.

Frixion pen?

My girls have these in about 8 colours. But, they can be erased for days after.

If you put the erased doc text in freezer, it shows up again..

The ink is not heat resistant and will disappear if exposed to a higher temperature.

Re: Temporarily erasable pen

I have this pen (frixion) but it is not what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a pen whose writing is temporarily erasable only in a short time (1-2 hrs), after that time, it becomes permanent, indistinguishable from writings from normal pens...

I realized this when we made some marmelade and I used this kind of pen to label the stickers. When I placed the first sticker on the hot jar the writing disappeared like magic!

Re: Temporarily erasable pen

Is this what the OP is seeking, a "liquid pencil", from Sharpie

Sharpie isn't as much of a household name in Europe as it is in the US, so as for a source, I'd look to Ebay or amazon. hth.

Is this what you mean? My mum used to use them for doing crosswords so should could rub out an answer if she realised it was wrong.
I've not seen them here ( but I've not been looking either) but I have seen them in France in the big supermarkets there.

You have to rub really really hard to make it disappear once it's been there a day or two.

Re: Temporarily erasable pen

Frixion is great !

It is a great chemical engineering invention based on advanced thermochromic inks.
These are materials that switch colours upon temperature changes, and strikingly the process is quite reversible (not so frequent thermodynamic property).
This means uppon friction (which makes a local temperature increase) colour fades away. If the ink is cooled down (-10°C) the chemical reaction is reversed and color reappears!

Apparently Pilot developed it, but can be found also under other brands (Uni-Ball and Muji). Pilot seems the best to my experience. Second being Muji.

Wish other things were so nicely developed !
