Re: Whos in the sticks aswell?!

I live in Hillbilly country, aka Nidwalden. Many of the same but obscure surnames of families completely unrelated, apparently. Foreigners number about 10% of the population and are taboo. So we tend to stick together, which makes us not 'unlike' them in the fact that we become insular against them also, somewhat!....which is not a good thing either.
Having certainly tried to assimilate, I speak 'high german' and understand their lingo for the most.
We tend to travel away from the area, go to Luzern or Zürich, another land from time to time. This keeps us sane and in touch with the modern world!

Yep...Aargau, the Swiss answer to Alabama, in a town of 1200.

We have one simple rule - we make our own fun. about once every other month we do a big barbecue, or theme dinner, or beverage tasting. Something. If you don't make it, it won't find you.

Sounds very familiar...and we're very fortunate to have two fantastic Swiss neighbours who join in the fun sometimes. The rest are curtain shuffling oddballs.

For good? How could anyone leave Switzerland?

You have no idea what are you missing. Besides, nowhere around Zürichsee is "Nowheresville" enough, leider.
On Holidays I was in places like Marshall/TX and Buda/TX and such places

Yes but you're close to Zurich - I'm in the middle of Aargau!
