If safety and comfortable life style is boring to anyone then seriously one needs a reality check in other places less privileged. I am sure that many would gladly exchange places with those who endlessly complain.

Shops close early and there is no nightlife during the week
People of Zurich are introverted and not so open.
People don’t smile. Many of Zurichs people are arrogant and stuck up
Its a quiet place if you like quiet and boring its your place
No Place is perfect .... | | | | | This is fun considering the city of Zürich has 32% of foreigners as inhabitants. 1 out of 3 is not from there. Damned auslanders!!! | The following 4 users would like to thank Axa for this useful post: | |

Nightlife every night of the week. I actually prefer weekdays as its less crowded and more relaxed.
I know plenty of fun and open people in Zürich.
People smile, same as anywhere else. Go in smiling and people smile back. Go in grumpy and people grump back.

Population of Zurich: 0.4 M
Yes, Zurich has suburbs of another half million or so... guess what: Munich even more so.
I think the key to this endless discussion is expectation. Anyone comparing Zurich with London and complaining that a in comparison tiny city has less to offer is frankly speaking a bit stupid. Given its size is the cultural offer over average, mostly because its the larges Swiss city, so many events are happening here. What is still lacking a bit is the gastronomy... Swiss prices and under average offerings as the Swiss customers seem to not know better...

NYC in particular is a craphole.
Tom | | | | | NY is miles better than Zurich, at least there is variety of stuff and it works 24/7. It's noisy, dirty and unliveable but this is okay.
Chicago is way better than Zurich too.

Either way, shocking behaviour, I agree.
BTW: eating with your mouth open might well be regarded as a lack of table manners – up to you to provide a direct co-relation with “ignorance”

I love Italian part of Switzerland, and Lugano is great. This is why I'm here |

One can pass it or stop over on way to ski resort, but going to the city just to spend time there is insane.

Not long ago there was a rant on EF about noisy youngsters partying on Seefeld and leaving a mess behind them. Maybe there's some kind of nightlife.
