Shops close early and there is no nightlife during the week
People of Zurich are introverted and not so open.
People don’t smile. Many of Zurichs people are arrogant and stuck up
Its a quiet place if you like quiet and boring its your place
No Place is perfect .... | | | | | Whenever I click onto my one-time community website in London the main topic seems to be about local pubs and where the best curry is to be had.
THAT is really boring.

Either way, shocking behaviour, I agree.
BTW: eating with your mouth open might well be regarded as a lack of table manners – up to you to provide a direct co-relation with “ignorance” | | | | | Goodness, have no idea what your post means. But Swiss people are really, really ignorant - we have so many foreigners that make up the population unfortunately.

You never understand anything which questions nonsense you’ve posted earlier – ignorance, I tell you!
For the sake of argument, let’s accept that “Swiss people are really, really ignorant” and that “so many foreigners that make up the population unfortunately” are valid statements to you. Where does that leave us? You seem to imply that foreigners are less ignorant than the Swiss but at the same time bewail their presence. Why do you object to foreigners helping the ignorant Swiss improve at least their statistical appeal?

Incidentally I'm in some ways sympathetic to the OPs sentiments. Cities aren't Switzerland's strengths - it's scenery. With that in mind I don't understand why so many people are happy to pay huge premiums to live in Zurich or Basel - unless they need international schools.

As you pitifully avoid coming back on your own BS, I can only recommend closing your mouth while posting. Think “good table manners” and “concentration of hot air” and you’re nearly there.
Rest assured, I shall try to refrain from replying to you in the future unless my continued ignorance compels me to |

My fondest memories of Zurich are floating down the Limmat. We lived in Kreis 5, so could easily walk to Escher-Wyss where we jumped in the Limmat and floated/swam to just before the power station. Our Labradiva loved swimming with us and we would do it 4-5 times on a Saturday or Sunday.
We were well past our clubbing days when living in Zurich, but when inspired, we found some pretty entertaining things to do. Loved the Oepfelchammer, and managed to climb over the ceiling beam numerous times. Eating a "sword of meat" at the Zeughauskellar. Outdoor movies on the Limmat at Filmfluss. Live Music at the Helsinki Club. Any pub crawls in the Langstrasse area... There were even a few high end strip clubs... which a friend told me about! We went to a few private parties hosted by some super wealthy folks that blew me away!
Zurich can be a lot of fun if you look around. It's just on a much smaller scale than most European capitals. | Quote: | | | | | Zurich is not boring. Especially floating on the river. I hope it will be added to the Wedn event | | | | |

Incidentally I'm in some ways sympathetic to the OPs sentiments. Cities aren't Switzerland's strengths - it's scenery. | | | | | It takes a trip abroad to remind me the strength of Swiss cities - clean, efficient public transport, access to services, civility, they are not such big magnets to people who happen to hit a low point in life for various reasons since there is quite efficient social system to prevent. I couldn't study in the library in San Fran, it was completely filled by homeless nation. The mess and garbage in CZ, French or Italian cities are hard to ignore. Vibrant social life is where there is economy is dependent on it, it certainly is not here and I am quite glad. There is a lot more culture/art/social stuff going on here than 15 years ago so I can't complain. Zurich has great libraries so I guess it is not boring for me
