My fondest memories of Zurich are floating down the Limmat.
This. And other cities have that too.

The Limmat doesn't flow through many other cities.

Unless you wan to count Baden as a city, but that's stretching it a bit.

Baden IS a city.
Anything with more than 10 inhabitans is a city. TIS.

They thinking about changing that though.

Zürich seemed rather gay yesterday.

Zurich IS boring. But boring in a good way.

Switzerland in general is boring and they're actually proud of it.

I thought it was funny. And yes, it actually showed Switzerland admits that you can do some pretty exciting things here - but you have to do them yourself
If you want to be entertained, this is not the place to come to.

I find the title question amusing. My reaction to is, what did you expect? Anybody who comes to Zurich for night-life can't be helped. As you can see, Switzerland doesn't even advertise to do so.

So you think Lugano has more to offer than Zurich?
Yes.

Better prices, better food, better wine, better EVERYTHING!

Well, I though the question of boring has more to do with things to do than prices and weather. And I don't think it close either

I guess this is the point. Lots of people have the habit of being entertained by others, never doing something by themselves. CH is totally not the best place to live if one doesn't have already some hobbies or interests. This could be sad for young people still trying something new every day.

Re: Isn't Zurich extremely boring?

Personally, I don't think it's the city that makes Zurich so boring as much as it is the people. That's just my opinion, of course, but many of the people I have met here have a complete lack of personality and rarely even crack a smile. Not to mention a complete lack of a sense of humor. That doesn't apply to everyone of course. But I can say with all honesty that I had never met anyone with a complete lack of personality prior to moving here.

Re: Isn't Zurich extremely boring?

so I come from a small town, then lived in Bremerhaven, Berlin and Gdansk (Poland).

From my perspective Zurich has less to offer than Gdansk or Berlin. They recently discovered open mic comedy. There are also some concerts, but the scene is not as lively as in Gdansk (and trust me, I did have the pleasure to befriend the local scene as I play some instruments and used to brew custom made beer). Yet the Tricity (Gdansk/Gdynia/Sopot) is quite active while I arrived here during the Covid, so I might have missed the nice and fun part.

I do know there are some Karaoke bars, last week been to a concert of Slift in Bogen F and some other fun stuff may be going on here.

To me personally the biggest problem is integrating with the locals due to language bareer - I speak high German and Berlinerisch, but Zurideutsch is still an obstacle for me, which leads sometimes to fun situations. Luckily I did meet some people who were like 'oh, let me translate that into german, but i know you are trying'

Re: Isn't Zurich extremely boring?

I quite like Zurich but I remember the Austrians saying "Zurich is twice the size of the Vienna central cemetary - but only half the fun".
