This guy put his rubbish out on the wrong day, then refused to pay the 150 CHF fine and finished up with 2 days jail.

It was probably like a hotel room but for free.

so basically he went to jail for discarding a milk carton and a banana peel. actually he went to jail for requiring sustenance.

It's nice to see a jurisdiction that still jails people for refusing to pay a fine.

If he had put all his correspondence in the Alt-Papier collection, they wouldn't have caught him.

This happened in Biel, both a French & German speaking Town.

As can be seen he left it out in the centre, Migros is in the photo. He was going away to the mountains for 2 weeks hence his reason for leaving out at 6am a day early than allowed. (He should have asked a neighbour.)

There was some details in the rubbish with his name & address, hence the rubbish police were able to track him down.

He refused to pay the fine, so they jailed him for 2 days. He said other prisons offered him Heroin and cocaine, that he refused.

He teaches skiing for blind Swiss Paralympic athletes.

My other mate from South Africa just offered money reward for giving him details of fu..ing as..hole in bakkie (pickup truck) who dumps regularly rubbish near his garden.

I've fined people for putting their waste out a few days too early after a second offence within a few weeks of being warned for same, I don't think ever I've fined anyone for placing their waste out a day early on a first offence.

Where my discretion wears thin is emptying a house onto the curb; I have summonsed people before the courts for emptying their whole house onto the curb-side and then taking off to a new property. Forty bags of waste at the curb baking in the sun for three days before collection day is a health hazard deserving of an appointment before a judge versus simply paying a small fine.

My landlord, lovely Swissie that he is, told me that if I ever wanted to put my rubbish out early I should leave it at the edge of his little front entrance area and not actually on the public path.

No one can fine me as it's not on public property but the rubbish guys will still pick it up. Nice! In fact, everyone leaves the bags in the front entrance even if put oiut at the right time. It's a good system.

If everyone acted like that, neighbourly, I would have a more time to look for things like shady businesses or the hooligans of the street who makes everyone else's life hell (the type everyone is a afraid to report due to fear of retribution) .

You need to catch the old witches who diligently pick up their stupid little yappy irritating of a dog's shit, put it into a yellow bag, then drop it outside someone's front door, or under a car tyre, or on the pavement or, weirdly, tied to a f/cking tree in the woods.

I'd like to grab their wrinkly little faces, march them over to a bin, then rub their face in it.

Same here, bags everywhere. Thrown in people's gardens, put on the sewer lids... in the wood, I saw a bag in a tree; in the park I saw a bag in the pond... I think I will dream of dogshit tonight. I notified the Gemeinde, they said I have to tell them who did it and than they can take action. I will become the neighbourhood inspector.
