From what I understand, one can have flashing lights IF you have a regular (white, non-flashing) light at the front and a regular (red, non-flashing) light at the back of your bike.

This is a great source, but I think it says you need reflectors at the front and the back.

Could be my German teacher's fault though.

Thanks, it's good to know. I don't have reflector so I guess I will use red, non-flashing light at the back of my bike.

You do need reflectors at front and back - see in link I posted below.
