Re: Three [Kings] cake

It was one thing to watch for kings, but now I need to look out for elephants too? This is just too complicated.

Re: Three [Kings] cake

My husband found a queen in ours, and now he is refusing to be a queen for the day. Spoilsport.
What do you wear on your head when you find an elephant? Your trunks?

My son managed to find the king in three different cakes today... I think I'll make him play Euromillion!

Re: Three [Kings] cake

I'm so jealous. I want an elephant instead if the boring old porcelain king that I got in my piece tonight.
I did check and the one we bought from the baker's did have a label on it warning about the little porcelain object inside. ( a pre printed sticker in three languages) I wouldn't have bothered looking had it not been for the earlier thread but then I knew about the tradition and I never read the labels on bread normally in any case.

For the last few years we ate/eat two of these together with a neighbour. I am always the first to find the king. Now I am banned from first choice and second choice but still today....

Re: Three [Kings] cake

I won three times too, but I didn't choose anytime, but just had the last bun.
Of course, as the last time was with my daughter I did a quick swapsy when she wasn't looking, so she thinks we both won twice (she won at Hort)

So what do the kings or queens for the day (or afternoon, or evening) do with their privilege(s)?
