Only if they're run by the post. Those are very different vehicles from normal busses, you know.
Since when? I call those "Poschtauto" plain and simple

I thought the ones you hire were called "car" and the others bus. There is also the postbus In certain remote areas.

That strikes me as incredibly weird every time - when people say there is a "Car" waiting to pick people up for a trip, I always expect something along the lines of a small car (perhaps a bit larger than a Smart, though ) and not a humongous tour bus/coach.

I guess Brits/Aussies/Canadians/etc. would be equally weirded out if people told them their auto was in their garage

Isn't it the same in France too? It certainly is in Belgium.

It confused me when we first moved to France. They didn't teach the difference between le car and le bus in O' level French.

You are both right so some degree. Postauto is certainly primarily a rural service, but many routes terminate in urban areas.

It isn't a city service like ZVV or Bernmobil for instance.

Go to Zürich Airport. You have the Post-Autos on one side and the buses on the other

Re: Only in Switzerland!

bellinzona urban lines are autopostale/postauto (they do have a slightly different livery though), they got a mandate for that since bellinzona doesn't have its own trasport company, they actually have quite a number of these mandates: http://www.autopostale.ch/de/pag-sta...rtsverkehr.htm
Also calling the 311 going between bellinzona and locarno rural would be a stretch since it can go more than 60 km/h only for a short tract, maybe just lower density area and communes not big enough to have a transport network. Rural areas is the traditional image.

In this case, it's actually F.ü.cker, with a Ü - the sound is /y/ in phonetics, not /u/.

Never seen any actual mountain cleaners before. I always thought it was just an April fools joke / Swiss tourism advert, but no, they are real (photo from Luzern).
