| | Anti female or anti English
My daughter who is six had her first football tournament this morning.
She goes to football training once a week when the schools are on.
This was the second tournament this year, the team had two teams in the first tournament but my daughter was not picked ( my daughter is the fastest of all the players and at football skills she is ok, not better or worse than the others but she does have speed), the first two teams were very German names. At training there is a right mix and match of nationalities.
So this tournament she is picked, only one team this time, they play four games of eleven minutes. The team has two subs for the first game and one sub for the last three games coz the keeper got a smack in the face in the first game. My daughter is the only girl in the team and the only non German (English).
So game one my daughter starts and is taken off after 6mins, i think ok everyone has to have a game.
Game two she is again taken off after 6mins, i think ok mmm.
Game three she lasts 7 mins and again taken off, now i start to think something is not right, as i said she is no better or worse than the others but she does have speed, coz she is fast (she also does athletics)
Game four she is again taken off after 7 mins, now i think the trainer is taking the piss, he either is anti English or does not like girls playing football, so i have a pop at him, i ask him "do you not like girls playing football" no no i am trying my best and so on bollocks, so i then tell how strange you take the only girl off in every match , its does not look right, oh if you can do better you do the coaching and so on, but this is bullshit.
We live across the border in Germany but i am interested if anyone has anyone had this sort of treatment in Switzerland.
P.S. they lost the first three games and drew the last

Having already stated that she is no better or worse than the rest of the team but she does have speed on her side.
I shall be a bit more clearer, no she was not playing badly, she was not any better than anyone else in the team or any worse than anyone else in the team!!

This all seems to be taken very seriously (unless I misread your post - we are talking about six-year-olds, right?) I wonder how much the coach is getting paid.
How many kids are on the team vs. on the field at a time?

Indeed- and the way to change things perhaps. But it does take a huge amount of time, energy, dedication, training and more +++++++
Both daughter and sil coach rugby as volunteers, as well as work full-time- and they are amazed how many parents are quite happy to dump the kids at training sessions - or just have a go at coaches and refs, etc. They have quite a number of girls, including our grand-daughter, who are treated equally though, so that is great.

I am pretty sure this guy is volunteering to coach your daughters team. As he said if you don't like it do it yourself or mid your own business.
Have you asked what your daughter thinks about it or is it just your pride that's hurt?

I would suggest you find another club for your child. you would be doing the coach a favor.

we were in a similar situation.
my child definitely has a Messi-like talent for football but none of the coaches saw the unique talent, probably because she is a foreigner. In the end we were forced to take her off football. must be racism.
It was not only football. We experienced the same with piano, ballet, singing, painting and tennis.

neither anti female or anti English - presumably while your daughter was playing someone else was on the bench. Even if the team were all female, a coach trying to combine giving players a chance and possibly striking a victory is going to substitute.
Cheer her on while she is playing (not too loudly, most kids find that embarrassing) and a good pat on the back when she comes off.

Great advice from www.teamsnap.com 3. Coach.
If you choose to coach, you put yourself in a position where you can (often) select or draft the kids on your team. Choose kids with parents who are not difficult. You might not have the best team in town according to your wins and losses record, but you will have a much more peaceful experience. (Note to difficult parents: If you continue to be obnoxious, coaches will stop choosing your child!)

anything that goes against the hive mind on this forum gets met with animosity and aggression.
if you write ANYTHING anti-swiss, the only people who will agree with you are expats, everyone else thinks swiss living is 'perfect'.
