Well at first they were only used for p0rn but then some realized they could use it as a media to express themselves, that's when all troubles started...

I think some might even comprehend what we are saying! Well sometimes...

First of all did I not actually know you are female, so it honestly was no sexism. I always thought you write so confusing because you are French...

Go on then.

Do you think I might blame all my problems because i'm having french nationality? Hey, that could work... I could start fighting for equality and who knows, one day we could consider french people equal as dogs!
We might even get the pat behind the ear and nice attention every time entering a room!

This forum is really useful for everyday life!

PS: i'm out to see if my newly acquired confidence will impact on my professional success, who knows I might even smile at my boss and get a raise...

It looks more like Donald Trump in a wind tunnel.
A quick google search revealed I'm not the only one who thinks that the Trumpster has a hint of Orangutan about him

Back to the original topic - I do agree that there should no tax on tampons/towels

After all they might have been right about stereotypes... See you put males in a (virtual) space and few minutes after it's all messy!

Let's wait for a female contribution to clean that mess out and refocus on the initial topic!

The initial topic was "why is Switzerland so backward that it does not celebrate international womens day as much as in the UK. Turned out that the day is some anglo-tradition and not that well known outside the countries of the former British empire. We finished this discussion a year ago... since then does the thread go in circles weather or not women are oppressed in Switzerland, some females throw in random articles on school books in Africa, Odile is doing a Wolli giving us the information how Switzerland was back in the day and Sbrinz wants to discuss statistics 101. I read your posts but besides being late to the party could I not really figure out what point you are making...?

What exactly is the issue with providing anecdotes to illustrate a point being made? Most evidence is likely to be anecdotal - this is a discussion forum. Where folk, you know, discuss stuff.
No problem in providing anecdotes to illustrate a point being made. There is a problem, however, in providing anecdotes to prove a point being made. That line has been crossed here a few times.

It seems to me that one may only have a voice nowadays if one can publicize their victim status loud enough.

Guilty! I have read only what was the last page, and then quickly glanced at the topic title and stopped backwards at the post I commented...

I had the impression it was some kind of complain topic about alleged female discrimination in the workplace regarding salaries... Or something like focusing badly on 1 issue and omitting the rest...

I commented back focusing on that post, but it's clearly not related to the main topic. But then again I joined the topic when it was already heading to Antarctica...

I read your previous post.
I'm afraid it's just your experience and your interpretation!
I'm not denying what you said is really happening- But don't make a generalization out of it...
Especially that others have different experiences contradicting yours.

(.....)

Of course it is MY experience, just like yours is YOUR experience. I did not say that MY experience is the absolute truth.

I questioned the claim that all differences in salaries can be explained away simply because women have children, take years off work, therefore stall in their careers and then work reduced hours, which all explains their lower average salaries. And that is not correct. Not all women do any, let alone all, of this, YET their salaries in the same job with the exact same responsibility are often lower than that of men, and yes, I see this every day. There are different factors that contribute to this inequality, some of which are indeed discriminatory with no rational explanation.

1) I see the opposite also, everyday.
2) Not necessarily true, it could also be due to bad negotiation or simply discrimination from the recruiter or HR person simply because they could do that...

Why not discussing about the other negative incidents impacting equally men and women or to be more accurate, happening regardless of gender?
What about the incidents discriminating solely men? It seems there's not much noise about that in your comments. Maybe it's not fashionable/trendy enough?
