That's precisely why...single women want some meat of the bone, it makes em feel safe and cuddly. It's about the whole survival instinct, skeletor can't protect you...but some nice 5-11, 94kg hunk has definitely some stature.
Married women are just bitter, the keep reading their fictional romance novels and dream about long haired, six-packed Raoul scooping them up from Coop on a tall Arabian thoroughbred.

I just can't be angry with you.

But mean time, are there some styles of clothing that make it look a little less obvious? Vertical stripes maybe? A shirt vs a t-shirt? Or should I just embrace it and show it off? It's still small enough that I can hold it when a lovely lady walks past!

Not over-here though. Switzerland only seems to be getting the West Coast soy transplants or the East Coast Quinoa addicts. What you're looking for are some down South diabetes-sweet-tea-drinking, BBQing Tennessee interns...that's why real food and real people are all about.

The fat lady thread got me thinking..
My love of prosecco and beer seems to have increased the size of my belly to the point where i notice it now and it's annoying me a little.. Not a lot, it's a status symbol after all, like a rolex My trousers have a 34in waste so I'm too huge.. and will try lose it..

But mean time, are there some styles of clothing that make it look a little less obvious? Vertical stripes maybe? A shirt vs a t-shirt? Or should I just embrace it and show it off? It's still small enough that I can hold it when a lovely lady walks past!

Not sure i'm expecting a sensible answer but hey...
What about a male corset (Morset?)... http://www.freshpair.com/Leo-High-Wa...l#.VO-AgPnF98E

When I'm sitting and hunch over forwards, I can manipulate my belly, button with my fingers, so it 'says' "sausages" ..... but that's life.

Shirts are better than t-shirts. Break up your lines with a smart-casual jacket. Wear jeans that are the right waist size or slightly above in order to reduce bulging.

I'm beginning to think that the traditional story of less food/more exercise is a load of bollocks after all. I lost quite a lot of weight last year by eating more carefully and doing some exercise. Then life got in the way (twin babies, neck injury) and I have spent the last six months eating like a pig and doing no exercise whatsoever. Have I gained weight? No.

Statistics are all very well, but I'd like to see a dietician explain that one!

But what if it's an emotional problem and the OP's comfort eating (and drinking) to get through it?
Or it may be his genetics at last catching up on him?
Or his hormones?
Or other random stuff like that? (especially stuff gleaned from random U.S. internet sites).

It's most likely not his fault - it's his circumstances and we shouldn't
say anything rash that may send him into a vicious cycle of despair and over-indulgent eating.

Who ate all the pies anyway?
excuses... 99% people don't have that problems.

I have worked as personal trainer and nutritionist and I know what I say.
The typical "I donˇt eat much" is always so subjective...

Because fat-bellied people generally don't look as good in semi-naked photos. Purely from an advertising perspective, of course...

I am not a dietician, but I'll give it a go: When you start to work out do you first build up muscles before you lose weight. Only after time do those extra muscles burn more calories and you start losing weight.
Muscles are per cubic cm five times the weight of fat!... so you might have noticed that you actually gained first before you lost weight with the exercise. When you stopped exercising did you start losing muscle mass (if your exercise was hitting the gym this typically starts immediately when you stop going there... at least for me) and the new fat you gained is the same weight as the muscles you lost... so you don't see a difference on a scale unless you also measure body fat. Long story short: weight alone is not telling the story if you are healthy.

Ezekiel 25:17.
"The path of the slim man is beset on all sides by the inequities of Colonel Sanders and the tyranny of Ray Croc. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, runs with the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's trainer and the motivator of lost weight. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and fatten my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

It's a physical law - the Conservation of energy. It's not really something you can argue about unless you want to look foolish.

Don't weigh yourself.
See how well your trousers fit around the waist.
