Eglisau Bridge renovation

Bridge is around 100 years old and is now being cleaned and checked for problems.
When you see the preparation work in the photo you can see why it costs millions
There is just so much scaffolding on th eother side but hard to find a good place to photograph from.

the road-link Zürich-Schaffhausen is of regional importance and in spite of the Highways still faster than the viaWinterthur route

And Zürcher-Shopper need their good access to their shopping places in Jestetten

Re: Eglisau Bridge renovation

.... wait for the already installed traffic lights to go into operation, turning the bridge into a one way bottle neck!

Re: Eglisau Bridge renovation

I thought they had finished the preparation work but now they are wrapping the bridge in plastic.

Almost 2 months since they started the renovation and no actual renovation work started yet; just the preparation.

No wonder it costs a fortune....

Re: Eglisau Bridge renovation

You say its being cleaned and checked, so they're not even doing heavy structural stuff.

Couldn't a guy with a pressure hose on a cherry picker have done the same work at a fraction of the price?
