Seriously, people don't fart? Even the dog farts.

You see this is the reason why I thank the Flying spaghetti monster daily for letting me be single, at home I can frolic naked and fart like a gatling gun whenever the mood takes me, even the raised leg gut buster with all the vitamins and nobody complains, it´s the next best thing to heaven on earth.

Cat farts are worse; especially those fed on soft cat food.

Re: does your man fart next to you?

For our three man-sized boys, flatulence is precious ammunition, because the apartment is in a constant state of biological warfare. Even the parents have been known to drop the occasional tactical bombshell. Our sensible daughter is the straight guy, holding her nose and disapproving of the whole childish fartfest.

My theory is, she doesn't fart while awake because she can't shut up long enough to build up sufficient pressure.
I suspect that is one of the reasons married men fart so much

I remember being given an explanation of why women talk so much - back in the days of the caveman the men would go and hunt and the women would go and gather. Berries and roots wouldn't run away from the sound of chattering - mammoths and deer would.

...or simply gas the prey, bio/chemical hunting methods, who would have known that cavemen were so sophisticated.

Yes, but does it have to be done right in front of us?

The first year hubby and I were together I did not hear one fart, then the occasional one was followed by 'ooops' now its progressed to raising of the butt and leg followed by 'ooo that was a good one!' lol.

Re: does your man fart next to you?

Neil DeGrasse Tyson said the particles that cause the stink in farts are toxic ! I think it's called hydrogen sulphide? So anyway, no trapping people's heads under covers!! In answer to the question, yes he does, but not at dinner, and not in the bedroom just before we go to bed..guess i am lucky haha

Re: does your man fart next to you?

An old poem.

Better to fart and bear the shame
Than not to fart and bear the pain

Not sure where it came from, but my father used to say it.

;-)

I plead guilty as well. I guess it's one of these things that differentiate men from women... Getting a good fart out can feel so good:-) Boys will be boys.

Re: does your man fart next to you?

As the biggest German poet put it:

“Im Atemholen sind zweierlei Gnaden,
die Luft einziehen, sich ihrer entladen.
Jenes bedrängt, dieses erfrischt,
so wunderbar ist das Leben gemischt.
Du, danke Gott, wenn er dich presst,
Und dank ihm, wenn er dich wieder entlässt.”

J-W v Goethe

Re: does your man fart next to you?

Swiss farmers love to fart. It's incorporated in their conversations and daily routines. Others ignore the farts or giggle about it behind their backs.

Older people fart more. You may not be farting now but you will later.

And lastly, as you get older, farting will be the least of your worries.....

Re: does your man fart next to you?

Great granny on her 95th birthday, everybody is at the party her children, her grand children and great grandchildren. After lunch with Granny sitting comfortably in her armchair she starts to tilt to the left, immediately one of the kids comes and puts her straight again and props her up with a pillow, she then starts to lean to the right, and again somebody sets her straight and props her up with a pillow.
"Whats wrong grandma?" asks one of the kids after seeing the look of concern on granny´s face......

"Buggers won´t let me fart...!"

Well I guess this will put a smile on your face. I do not know what to do/ think and I guess I just have to accept the situation- most times I manage but other times it just really me. My husband farts- nothing wrong with it. I've asked him if poss to go to the room next door when he feels the need do it- I always do that. I explained to him that I find it gross; my father used to fart at the dinner table, comment on his farts (yes, you might be laughing but it was not my reaction back then)- anyway, I told my hubbie it'd be great if he didn't lift himself up his chair to then loudly fart in front of me especially during dinner. But does he do it? Nope. What is it with farting and the gender difference??? I do not know of one women who proudly farts in front of her husband/ boyfriend. Accepting is the key, right? As you see I struggle with it, I guess it is more about the fact he doesn't care what's important to me... Thanks for your insight!!
Well, it's definitely the funniest thread lately....
OP tell him that you really hate this habit of him. Maybe it's the food? Who knows. Everybody farts but....at dinner table? Proudly? I don't know, it looks pretty gross to me too. You shouldn't accept everything.

This.

Re: does your man fart next to you?

I don't know many people that don't enjoy the smell of their own farts and find it completely entertaining seeing others suffer from it, I certainly do!
Though it differs per nationality, Brits and French are probably the smelliest people, with regards flatulence, on the planet. I know Mexicans too enjoy a good queef competition now and again.
Germanics generally just let it go as though nothing ever happened, too embarassed to acknowledge it.
Our Swiss neighbour is a vegetarian, we'd be stood talking to him and he's letting some pickled onion and cabbage water babies go, a few a minute, poker face held well.
Me and the missus have a good laugh exchanging blows, literally!
