SRF Documentary "Bloodhound und Streuli"

About 8 months ago, I met a man with a pretty unbelievable past. He grew up in Los Angeles, son of a Swiss father and Jamaican mother. Shot 23 times, high ranking member of the Bloods, widely considered one of the most violent US gangs, and deported to Switzerland 2 years ago, while his 2 small children remained in Los Angeles with their mother. I work as an editor at Swiss Television, and approached a friend with the idea, thinking I could help out behind the scenes and pad my resume a bit, but the journalist ended up wanting to use our common backgrounds to tell the story, so I ended up in front of the camera, something I'd never done before nor had any intention of doing. I took him to the Rigi, to show him a part of his home country he'd never seen, (he'd never been outside Zürich). I went to LA to find out more about his story from people that knew him...gang members, police, social workers...

Most of all I confronted my own preconceptions about people's pasts, how America treats "illegal" immigrants, and explored the story of a man trapped here in Switzerland, who wants nothing more than to go back to the US and to his family.

There's two audio versions, both with german commentary, but one in which the extensive english dialogue is un-dubbed. I hope you watch and like it, Tomorrow, Thursday May 21st, 20:05, SRF 1.

I'll try to embed the trailer when I get to work, but here's the link:

Re: SRF Documentary "Bloodhound und Streuli"

Hi, Principia Discordia,

Has there been any positive resolution to this person's story? It seems "the law" is going even after adoptees, too, now.
