There's a special edition Lamborghini for sale on our company-intern pinboard.

I wonder how it would fare on the EF market place.

So you're not certain they're BLT workers? They could be cross-border concrete thieves!
Are these BLT workers bacon/lettuce/tomato burgers? What is BLT in this context?

Basel Land Transport (well, I assume the T is transport!)

The whole thing just struck me as bizarre and funny.

For those of you waiting with baited breath for an update... there is now a landing strip of brand new dark tarmac there.

Not sure why the groans, Sublime, but thanks for the input!

A woman misses the bus because it leaves 10 seconds early. Apologies from the bus company.

TIS 1 - The handover for our house has been brought forward by two weeks as they are ahead of schedule

TIS 2 - It would be even sooner, but the building company has a 3-week break in July/August

Re: TIS - This Is Switzerland

My husband gets off the train and accidently forgets his mobile on the little table. Sees it as the train is departing the station (worried look on his face). Passenger on the train gets it to the station master and phone is on the next train back to Zurich office... TIS

Walking into a Zurich HB bus stop with my girlfriend and 4 pieces of luggage. There are four seats on the stop, and people are sitting in the 1 and 3 seat. Seeing us, person from place 3 smiles, and moves to place 4 so that we could sit together. TIS.

It seems like a normal thing to do for me, not TIS.

I did that for a young couple in Stuttgart last week. TIS = This is Stuttgart. But good that it happens in Zürich too. It wasn't me though.

"How to explain this cleanliness and punctuality? No one knows for sure....."

I think they are in fact aliens. No human can be that punctual, continuously.

The built the pyramids, invented cats and retired here to build train sets.

I know Swiss who are far from punctual - so you'll be pleased to know it isn't just Auslanders who are disrespectful

Re: TIS - This Is Switzerland

I went to my post office today to buy a Fr 1.50 stamp for a letter to Europe. They didn't have any. They didn't have any either soon after the price was raised from Fr 1.40 to Fr 1.50.

There are 500 million people in Europe, but my post office cannot sell me one stamp, I need to buy two. TIS is not perfect.

Alternatively you could have bought one 1 CHF, two 20 Rappen and one 10 Rappen stamp
