*Once, though, I was asked if, based on my accent, I was Dutch. One of the proudest days of my auf Deutsch life.

Yes, I was astonished about our sky tonight too. Unfortunately that told me that the weather will be bad tomorrow.

And back to the OP.
Walked into a wine barrel making factory 3 villages away from home. Bloke didn't know me from....Adam.
Asked him if I could buy a smaller keg for the creation of home port. He took me into a storage area with many choices, and left me there alone, no cameras or supervision, to browse for 20 minutes until I found the barrel I liked.
I had to search him out to confirm my choice, he carried it to my car, asked me to scribble my name and address on a slip of paper, and then advised he'd post out a bill. No ID from me, nothing for me to sign, no payment on the spot, not even a photo of my car licence plate.
2 weeks later, bill arrives in the mail (which I will of course pay immediately).
Such a level of trust. TIS

Back in 2014-2015 before I left CH I had a period of unemployment. I needed a letter confirming this from the RAV/ORP.
Emailed my old ORP adviser asking if this is possible. Have a PDF letter in my email 20 minutes later.
Love a bit of efficiency!
