I discovered a 1902 20-Rappen coin in my change today.

I may not be rich, but I do have 4 grams of Swiss silver coined over a 100 years ago.

EDIT: Make that 8.4 grams — I just found a 1964 1-franc coin, too!

I'm used to do that: looking at the dates of coins. You' ve keep them in. A great tresor

Re: I smiled because...

Just read the new Yoko Tsuno.

That's the big book, with some texts from the author about the story, about himself. And more interesting, some of his preparatory works.

Re: I smiled because...

We are in a hard period of winter in Brasília. I was preparing some exercises for applying while I was watching a french video about the people from High Xingu.
Suddenly I saw all the people of the tribe in the river, almost nudes in very hot places. I start to smile ´cause a sensation of temperatures that I have now is 5 Celsius degrees in my city.

I got a three-for of "go aheads" at the check out line in COOP yesterday. Moved right to the front of the line with my jug of milk, Special-K and stick of deodorant. I must of looked like a very pathetic bachelor or something.

Re: I smiled because...

Ok not today but yesterday, when we helped a woman out of Lake Zurich. We were ambling in our merry moods, soaking the breeze when we heard a woman blurt out something near one of those wooden benches. When we went closer we saw her barely holding herself out of the water, clutching the edge and struggling. She repeated again in English saying "help, please help me out of the water". My friend and I rushed, each held her hand and we pulled her out
She then slowly trudged to her belongings and we continued our happy walk.

Felt nice! But wondered why she'd swim from those steep edges.
Be safe everyone

PS: I believe God rewarded us with a cool rain spell

smiled today to read that John Howe, who is the illustrator for all the Tolkien film adaptations, used my favourite local Dale, Les Gorges de la Poetta Raisse, in Môtiers close to us- as an inspiration for many of his drawings. Really made my day

Re: I smiled because...

A small step for the humankind, but a huge one for me...: I learned to cook scallops. Fried them only one minute and a half on each side (I used to literally kill all the juice and taste they have), added a bit of Teriyaki sauce....the result was divine! That brought a huuuge smile on my face.

Re: I smiled because...

I was walking Lily and an elderly woman came up to me. She told me that her dog looked like Lily and then I recognized her. She often walked her dog the same time i walked Lily and the dogs would stare at each other and we would always wave. Her dog was named Foxy and died last year - 14.5 years old. She looked so sad and Lily sniffed her hand and the woman gave her a pet. And we had our whole conversation in German.
