I overheard my old swiss boss describing as salesperson as "dumb-as-fck".

Apparently my North American social English is a bad influence on others.

I think I myself prefer "daft as a brush", it's a bit more..evocative. I should have used it a min ago when I hung up on another telemarketer, though I think that person with French number wouldn't have any idea why I am talking about brushes when she is trying to do "market research". Do telemarketers take a course on a self righteousness? I wouldn't think that sells.

I smiled today because it is supposed to snow on Sunday, and it is still 18deg now. Yo.

I smiled today because I got the day off work. On a Thursday. Life is good... until tomorrow. :')

This made me smile. Belgium is just starting to get back to normal after all the problems and the advice for travelers going there is to take your own tea.:)

I am smiling because I am sitting at the kitchen table- and watching all the snow outside, and 100s of brids feasting on the sunflower seeds at the bird feeder just outside the door. Sparrows, chaffinches, gold finches, nuthatches, different sorts of tits, and many more. They make a terrible mess- but I truly don't mind as they are such a joy. Off to take the frozen bowls of water and replace with fresh- water is almost more important to them in this weather.

I have been smiling because we have been packing churches by singing huge Latin American Christmas masses.

And because I cannot seem to get the overkill gold glitter off my eye lids.

Cos all my little kids and their parents had a ball at the Christmas party. It was a joy to see the kids faces when Father Christmas came and a pleasure to see the parents mixing and chatting. :)

I smiled today because I was walking with my dog next to the Zurich lake in Ruschlikon, then sat next to the water for an hour, watching swans and mountains covered with snow :p

That sounds so idylic:) I love sitting by the lake as well. For some reasons a good part of my Swiss friends dislikes swans. Whenever we sit by the lake and a swan approaches, it gets yelled at or has gravel thrown at :/

Im smiling bc I got conditionally admitted to a PhD :O Life is unpredictable. Almost gave up on pursuing my research interests, but then this year someone encouraged me to apply, since I have more time now. Feels good to be back on track. (academically) Let's see how long this excitement lasts : )

We got it too... although advertising etc. it really made our day to get some feedback from the main store I've been shopping from over the past years :)

We got the voucher but haven't collected it yet. It looks as though it might actually be worth getting.
The cut out heart designed to prevent copying made me smile though.

because I've just got my first ever text from my grandson in the UK - Skype is great, but with text we can communicate direct without parents having to put Skype on - hurrah.
