... I sewed back on a button on my other half's trousers.

(Oh, I do sewing maybe twice a year -- but only if there's a real need for it.)

:msnblush:

This morning I poured some milk into my cat's bowl, but instead of shlurping it down immediatly, he stood up on his hind paws and licked my nose... then he got to work.

I believe that is the first sign of gratitude I have ever received from him

I smiled this morning because inspite of all the rain, I stopped on the Kornhausbrücke on my way to work to see a sliver of sunshine. It only lasted a moment but it was there. It feels good to see something beautiful!

I smiled today because I got news from a lifelong friend back in the UK who has been trying "forever" for a baby with his wife, and they are now expecting!

He's doubly pleased because the money they had put away in case they wanted to start IVF will now be used for buying baby stuff instead.

Because even though I hear news from all over the world cracking about the economic crunch or problems in DRC... here I feel safe and I see myself as a lucky one :)

Every morning I wake up and rush to the window and admire the fantastic Alpine panorama. And often there is an amazing sunrise. And always think how fortunate I am to live in this beautiful, peaceful, clean, functional country! And jump on my mountain bike to race downhill and around the lake. And in winter snap on my cross-country skis and glide through the snowy forest paths ...

There are some really good people here on the forum that I like to consider as friends even though I haven't met them ... yet. :)

I just noticed that I am now officially a 'Forum Veteran'. Does that mean that I can now become the EF equivalent of a Grumpy Old Man? Perhaps it is all downhill now?

Congrats Rod! Please don't become grumpy. We like you just the way you are. :D
