At least in a pub you're pretty certain that the others are as roughly as inebriated as you are.
I doubt that you ever get inebriated. Goodness, JW could be our group therapist! Anyone into a get-together?

Bartender, pour this lady a double of whatever she desires. She's obviously distraught and not thinking clearly.

Ruddigore, please put my ear trumpet away, I have no further need for it this evening. Oh, and bring me that top hat which was too large, and a scarf, to cover my ears.

Maybe a bit Jeremy Kyle, but is that person right?
No.

But my grandad married his cousin. Who became my grandma. I think things were less traditional in a sense, back then. Is that enough Jeremy Kyle?

Re: I smiled because...

chuckled would describe it better. I saw an ad: "Jetzt Schweizer Woche im Migrosrestaurant". (Now Swiss week in the Migros restaurants).
How unique, I'm sure it will be a money-spinner

Re: I smiled because...

When I was cycling along a gravel track by the River Sihl this morning, I noticed that the thick layer of slightly damp leaves was muffling the sound of my bike beautifully. I would have been able to scare the living daylights out of folk by sneaking up behind them and then ringing my bell just before overtaking. I managed to resist the temptation but it was a struggle.

Good for you - just imagine they would not have jumped out of the way but you needed to hit the breaks

I can't stop smiling because I met Mark Lanegan tonight after his sweet gig in town. Only 14yrs since I first saw him live with QOTSA.

He is great, good for you. I used to listen to him quite a bit. I missed Fink the other day, I wonder if those guys are good in live gigs. Must be.

Re: I smiled because...

.... within 9 hours I had an African shower and a Swiss shower without using my passport.
On the road I had an intuition that in the curve there would be a movable speed control - and yep, there it was, expecting to make a fortune in the 30 zone. So in this specific case it was me who flashed it (a smile) when passing at 21km/h. (They'll probably fine me for sneaking )
