Indeed. That and because she is a teacher .

I smiled because we welcomed monstera into our giant jungle of our house plants last night.

Because nobody in my household is awake and I have the morning only for me. Because it smells like (decaf) coffee.

Decaf in the morning??

Wait, I get it. You brew decaf and no one else wakes up. Brew regular and your peace and quiet is over. Nice strategy!

Re: I smiled because...

I fell in love with "Lascia ch'io pianga" on Friday evening and found a very much simplified piano version on-line. Not that I can actually play it, but stumbling through just a couple of bars is wonderful.

I hope MusicChick will know what I am talking about even though she doesn't do the stumbling bit.

Did you study the text? Very self-pitying.
Hope you find a more cheerful piece of music to start the week tomorrow

Re: I smiled because...

For goodness sake, I have enough trouble with the music. The words are the least of my worries.
I prefer sad pieces because they can be played slower. This score actually says 'Slowly' on it so ideal for me.

Yes - this is a slow piece so don't stress. It is very simple and organized, you just kick back and enjoy the learning process! I'd toss the usual 1 hand -> 2 hands technique, try for new pedagogy: some people do better when the learning is not decomposed! The pressure to do déchiffrage (whatever the Engl. word is, sight reading?) for both hands at once will advance you. I will get this for my kid, it is lovely. Majestic.

I have been slowly working through these:

It is more math and memory than anything else: creating imprints of memorised blocks of kinetic/audio info, kind of maps, then recalling them. Fingers just catching up with all that. The best is avoiding to think about it too much and just play frequently.

Hmmm, interesting the outcry after everyone seems to be okay with all the Mohammed caricatures (making pictures of Mohammed is not allowed even for Moslems!).
Not to mention that Jesus wasn't even on the picture

Still, I wouldn't buy these rolls, I mean, is that STRAW I see in there?

... I just got a call from one of my oldest friends to say he's got me a ticket to see Robert Plant tomorrow night Better still, he doesn't want any money for it because it was me who got him listening to Zepp when he was a 20yr old lead guitarist. There is a dog!

Re: I smiled because...

There was this really strange knocking noise yesterday, it went on and on and on. After a short break, it started again.
It turned out to be a chickadee, knocking on the wooden frame of my balcony door!

It came by and did it again today.
I have no idea, what it is trying to tell me

Okay, maybe I should check the wood for termites, that would make me stop smiling, huh?

My daughter had a friend over for a play date. Her friend put on the fairy wings and said "I'm a fairy, I can fly!" My daughter quickly reponded, "I have a cape, I can fly too!"

Big smile
