Re: I smiled because...

Went to the recycling place today, hate going there as they have hardly any parking spaces. When I arrive, one car on my side pulls out. But an other on the other side sets his indicator for it.
I must have made a really sad face because ....... the guy actually waved for me to have it and took off!!!

I do not remember that happening ever before

Because I manged to handmake stuff for xmas stocking..Because it is Christmas, the season of festivities, noble spirit and kindness. Because we sang a lot and laughed a lot. Because people dress up in festive clothes, look snazzy and it makes them feel good.

Re: I smiled because...

The advantage to be teacher is that we have 2 periods of vacations per year!: 1 around 20 days and another around 45 days. So I ask myself why I haven´t planned to travel... I do a hard course that it helps me to performance my education area.

Now in my first day school vacation I´ve decided to purchase some CDs and a micro-system, in my list only jazz and blue (Zaz, Ella Fitzgerald, Madeleine Peyroux, so on). I think I´m very in harmony with by myself in these days, ´cause it´s Christmas and all celebration days coming. More, the Priest on TV ask everybody in the world to forgive. Yes, 2018 is the Forgiveness Year for church and for humanity.

Everything to the run up of the big do and meal is running so smoothly, that I can allow for small breaks and have a little crochet time here and there to relax. Thankful for small things like that, and it makes me smile

Re: I smiled because...

This is the first year that I don't need to do a thing.

But now my daughter's boyfriend is making a pissy that they are doing the honours of hosting birthday on the 23rd, Swiss Christmas on the 24th, and English Xmas on the 25th.

Between several families.
, and friends. Not sure whether to mention that we could streamline this going forward...

And my daughter loves this period so much that she could live through it everyday!

Would make a reference to my post when joining EF in 2015, but can't find it by searching "Knickers in a twist".

Maybe Oldhand has it in her files

Re: I smiled because...

Because we went to a fab classical music performance in a local historical theatre.

Because I saw a lot of my former professors.

Because while not caring too much for gifts at all, it is still sweet when people think of you. Surprise is always welcome.

Because traditions are important, old and new ones.

Because festive days aren't over yet and there is a lot more to come.

It´s worth Catholic Church in Brazil introduces its priests stars in medias. The question is: Why this Brazilian Priest has a great success mainly for female public as well as Christian or not ?

Re: I smiled because...

... because the bullfinches, both males and females, are back en masse today on the bird feeders, with grosbeak and bramblings too - as well all the usual variety of tits and sparrows - a joy - to see them so close, and to know our seeds and water are helping them get through.

Bullfinches are amazingly stunning- jet black and bright orange, wow.

The kitchen fitter came, fixed the dishwasher door and didn't charge us anything for it.

The benefits of living in a small village and knowing the locals.

Re: I smiled because...

Indeed- it may cost a little bit more initially - but then you do get such great service- well worth it

Buy a cheap one from HyperU or M. Bricolage in France - and see what service you get afterwards
