Re: I smiled because...

Because my son decided to surprise us and was born 16 days earlier than planned.

Because I had the entirely natural, medication-free labor and delivery I was hoping for, and all went very well.

Because my husband held my hand through the very unsettling hormonal storms/ "baby blues" of the first few days.

Because, although my son's weight was normal at birth, he struggled with quite a bit of weight loss in the first few days, but he's now slowly but steadily gaining it back.

Because he's thriving and, according to the pediatrician, he's a little warrior.

A lot to smile! Hope all of you EF friends have wonderful holidays and a great start in 2018!

Glad all went well and you're all healthy and happy! Don't bother trying to sleep the next few months, it's overrated anyway

Congratulations, that's wonderful news.

He's a Capricorn, like my daughter. They are little warriors, and I could never, ever wish for anything better (I have just one - but am sure that there might also be good combinations ).

Wishing you all the very, very best.
Definitely one of the best (the best???) news on EF this year !!!

Re: I smiled because...

I smiled because after searching for about a year I finally found the perfect Apartment to move next summer for our retirement in Locarno/TI.
It is right downtown with walking distance to shops, cafes, and the Piazza Grande.
We will fly to CH from Charlotte/NC ( our actual residence ) next month to sign the contract. My wife and I are both swiss and can't wait to go back to Ticino.

Re: I smiled because...

There was a storm of mango a couple of hours ago in my house backyard. Even if it´s summer season in here, normally it rains a lot and so hard. The mango tree is full of the fruit, birds and bats. I´m already used to live with mangos, nest, nestlings and bats flying around me, and sometimes little monkeys and owls on the wall in which it separates my house and my neighbour one.
I think all of community try to be realistic towards sustainability regards, ´cause it´s an urban area and we can see some especes out of their natural environment.. So they´re free to live in this area.

Actually, he's a Sagittarius, although just barely! According to his chart, being born in the third decan, his Fire nature will be tamed a bit by the influence of the Sun. He will be a seeker, of knowledge and adventure. A communicator. A bubbly, energetic traveler who likes change.

If he lives up to his astrological profile, he will be what I can best describe as a "joyful handful". And occasionally, he'll drive up the wall his Taurus mom and Taurus dad!

You don't really need a horoscope to predict that, do you

Still, to keep him safe, refrain from red romper suits maybe

And in about 4-5 years, the grandparent's revenge will appear as a birthday present: a firefighter's helmet, wwith built in flashing light, and siren.

Because ! I got married 50 years ago to day http://www.englishforum.ch/images/smilies/smile.gif
Wow, I am such a "beginner" with only 27 years (at least my sister tells me that, married 41 years).

Many returns of the day!
