I smiled because I learned that SBB is testing out a total smoking ban in stations!

This is possibly the funniest wardrobe malfunction on live tv. It's the stuff of nightmares.

Re: I smiled because...

I am at the traditional christmas tree burning at the local fire brigade station with a bar and food. For the last hour they have been distributing free glasses of schnapps now we get ashtrays.
I am definitely smiling!

That looks like Ouzo, Ricard or Pernod. Okay, the latter two merged to one .... unlike your visual acuity - you probably see double by now.
The good news, from what I remember, this stuff doesn't give you a headache tomorrow.

Certainly one of those
Now someone had a birthday and they are forcing Prosecco on us

Usually when I wake up at midday I have no headache.

Now we are down to the last twelve, our group at retirement ages and the other eight damn young

Re: I smiled because...

Love Monday mornings.

Because new year resolutions are the theme of this week.

Because the recipe I gave out actually had a great success even with beginning bakers. Yo!

Because one can spoil others without buying things.

Because my guitarist's life changed for better.

Because there are people who keep charity and cohesion in mind.

Re: I smiled because...

I smiled because I read Catherine Deneuve's own letter in Liberation (re.Weinstein case and the hashtag movements), in which she nuanced her position and distanced herself from some other signatories.
I still don't agree with her claim that the original letter didn't contain anything controversial, but I like that she lived by her own principles and proved she's a very independent woman and wasn't fooled by the support this letter got for the wrong reasons and even from people she highly dislikes. Chapeau!

Re: I smiled because...

When I was a teenager I lost both my parents - my mother was french and for reasons not known to me was not in contact with her family. I have memories of being in France when a small child and have several photos of me around 1965 with my 3 cousins.

Now over 50 years later, thanks to the internet - I have found them!!!!!

One of them, who is the same age as me, has been sharing photos and memories and told me things about the family that, because I was young, never knew.

A reunion is on the cards in the near future........I am so happy to have found them...
