Bouldering burns 500-900cals. I don't really care about that, I ache but it is always good pain after one hangs off a wall.

The hall was slammed, everyone was there, from preschoolers to retirees.
I think the time you hang off the wall it's the one securing you who burns the 500-900cals.

Well, I'll tone down the hanging and use my legs more, a girl doesn't wanna be too buff . That will curb the excessive cal burn, too. Down to 500.

Although, haven't hung enough, I don't ache no mo.

It's a really good way to work out. And then, of course the usual: adrenaline rush/back to primate feeling while using strategic thinking, physics. And we have a weird smart world champ Ondra, he inspires.

For fun, mainly, though...Plus kiddo's hooked. Literally. And acing difficult Vs.

You misunderstand my question. Climbing is awesome. I know that already. I've been meaning to start doing it too.

You said you don't wanna be too buff. Why ?

Why be buff when one can look good instead?

Re: I smiled because...

On my travel to Physio today (driven by my private chauffeur) - we saw lots and lots of Red Kites soaring- they are back

And the Webcam at Rutland Water (East Midlands UK) saw that 2 of the ospreys are back 1 week early than normal - not very nice weather there to welcome them back, brrr.

Re: I smiled because...

snow almost gone, apart from a few patches opposite us on North side of the mountain. But above us, there is still loads of snow, and cross country ski runs are still opened.

Yesterday, I filled all the bird feeders for the 100s of tits of every kind (apart from long tailed we've never seen here), nuthatches and sparrows, etc- but I also scattered handfuls of sunflower seeds on the grass beyond he patio - and bingo, dozens of chaffinches and their most amazingly coloured cousins, bramblings (known here as 'pinsons du nord' - northern finches) - what a joy to know it is really helping until they can get to the ash seeds and beechnuts left from last year, in the woods.

... and today sun came out, and they were joined by many gold finches and siskins

Our large patio is covered with seed husks- what a mess - but it will just take a few minutes with the Karcher when Spring does come- worth it.

Re: I smiled because...

After a lovely sunny day yesterday- we had about 15 cam of snow overnight... which led to a very funny event - a mouse behind the dresser in the kitchen- and Emma the Danish Jack Russel (type) and Minou the 3 legged Birmese cat- worked a a fab team to get her- she did not have a chance, and it was hilarious (the male dog in the meantime hid in the utility until it was all over).
