Re: I smiled because...

.... I got a new garage (mechanics), they locate problems within hours (one actually this time), communicate it clearly, answer questions efficiently (sans the blabla some seem to think woman want to hear although it doesn't even make sense).

They even drove me back and picked me up ..... but that's definitely an extra

I smiled when a group of swiss teens were being super loud and rowdy and obnoxious on the tram, but as we got off, one of the boys went out of his way to come help me off the tram, push his friends to move, and lift down my stroller.

This made my day. Thank you! We need to tell the GOOD news, too.

My German is less crap after singing Bach in German today for 9 hours.

Not sure if I get the same feeling of achievement tomorrow.

That would make me smile, too. And I wouldn't be surprised. The socio research on empathy keeps steadily showing stats on the most empathetic part of the population being high school age. Good, that they let us learn from them.

I learnt to master yeast today. Or yeast decided to surrender to me and do it's job.
This opens the door to a whole new range of food to me

So how's the first brew?

Re: I smiled because...

I see the sky in these days so grey, and I think to myself when I go to work by bike: what a wonderful world! YOOUP! it's raining so much after more 8 months without a drop of water in horizon.

I've even thought to buy a ticket to go to Mars, cause I was affraid of this phenomenon named climate change

I'm not planning to go into beer production.
And my last "project" cast a damper on my euphoric believe I had fully mastered the subject of yeast
But hey, I did it once, I'll do it again.

I didn't smile today. I laughed. A lot. In fact at one point I had a belly ache from it. What a day!

Re: I smiled because...

..... not only my car all of a sudden runs like a sewing machine, my new mechanics are also a lot cheaper (easily comparable on the tire-change-bill that arrived today).

At long last ..... lesson of the day: Maybe I shouldn't give people too many additional chances.

These guys make me laugh pretty much every day!
They love dropping things onto other things from great heights ... much more exciting than just putting things on top of other things.

Re: I smiled because...

Cool coincidences: Just after reading about Ian Hibell, I happened to meet a silver-haired man who chanced upon a pretty old road bike that he wanted to sell, because it was too fast for him...didn't think he was that much of an avid cyclist...until he tells me he once did a 6-month long, 10,000km cycle-tour in Canada, and another one in Africa.

Inspiration!

They're still waiting to be watched by me on zattoo.
I read the book of the old-man-story, wonder how the film will be.
