I feel the same way about the dog who lives with us. (Uh, um... she hasn't turned into a little boy and she doesn't giggle. She makes these funny nose or throat noises though and sleeps on my feet, not at.) We'll be pretty cut up when she goes off to seeing-eye dog college.

.

we have two kittens, they're 4 months old now. I've always had pets, but it's the first time for my boyfriend, so he was a little reluctant at first, when I wanted them.

Anyway, what made me smile is when I remembered the other evening, when we went out to a nice restaurant, and after a couple of glasses of wine, the boyfriend gets this dreamy look in his eyes, takes my hand and says..

"You know..I wish the kitties were here with us.."

Re: I smiled because...

It's my daughters birthday today; she is the best girl ever, does well in school and has just been elected class representative for the 4th year in a row. Her coming into this world was a team effort; when she was born one of the doctors said "she is special, you can see she is so happy to be alive, each breath she takes is for life...".

I am so lucky.

I would like to thank all the EF'ers at this time who have been so wonderful to her... you have all made her feel welcome at events and been so kind.

Big hugs and smiles to everyone!

Re: I smiled because...

... because I missed my train this morning and went into the station to have a coffee and wait for the next one. Paid for my coffee, turned round to sit down with it - and an elderly Swiss gentleman apologized for staring at me. (I hadn't even noticed he was... been here too long, I have.)

And THEN he excused himself by saying my hat was so becoming he couldn't help it.

Every bad hair day should start like this.

Re: I smiled because...

I actually gave this girl 5 franc and refused change when she wanted 3.50 for a train. (I'm usually too cheap for charity)
That night the Nachtbus dude let me ride for free when i 'forgot' to buy a ticket.

Re: I smiled because...

I tend to smile because i dont actually realise the seriousness of whatever situation ive got myself into.
having said that i also realise that most of the nasties that can get me already have and i hope and pray they wont get me again.
besides , smiling just feels GREAT and also hides my wrinkles in a goofy dopey kind of way.
lets just smile for the sake of it

I'm actually IN Switzerland (for a change), I'm about to drink an Ittinger, and will enjoy Cervelats and Rösti for dinner.

I smile because it never ceases to amaze me how many myths about the Swiss actually exist ...

and also

I smile because I will always prefer a certain category of "BAD BOYS" to those well behaved and ever so boring and oh so sophisticated snobs.

... of parking the other day in Jelmoli. What a good design of a carpark. So well laid out. Short queue to get in, but effortless finding of space.
