Because I see students I taught a while ago. They were special people then and equally fantastic now.

Re: I smiled because...

Because I read a paper from 1927 and it had "soul-pleasing" as one of the criteria.

I only want soul-pleasing from now on..

I looked that up. "Soul-pleasing" seems to have a broad range of meanings. In all the contexts I could see, some of which I liked more or less than others, the general sense was the antithesis of aggression or strife. A good idea. Yes.
Thank you.

Saw this picture of Christian Stucki, the winner of Schwingfest, and Ueli Maurer. The size difference made me smile.

Re: I smiled because...

Because I've missed this thread and the EF, so it's long time that I'm absent to share some informations btw EFers. I think it's cause of a broken lien over Switzerland, a long date since I've quitted this wonderful country for returning in my birth country - Brazil.

It's interesting in realizing it's normal when I have to manage my life here: work, study, friends, so on. Only thing that attaches me with that country is the French language, but I don't know anymore about my accent... if French or Swiss, coz I watch many videos in both accents!

Maybe take a break? You don't need to collect degrees like some people collect shoes. Beach holiday sounds way more fun than signing up for more studies.

Tell me about it, lol...just rub it in, rub it in hahahaha. Unless you NEED another degree. Most people I know don't voluntarily submit themselves to tortute. And not sweet kind of torture, I mean! But thanks for congrats. It was pretty tough.

Hols lurk on the horizon in a couple of months, I'll see. Work work work work work it is for now. And not just for me, can overhear a tutor from my kitchen, as I type.

I hate driving. I’d rather take the bus anywhere even if it takes longer. Today i persuaded myself to drive to a friends house which is in a part of Geneva i have never been to. Did a few wrong turns but i managed! I cant stop smiling now

Enjoy the holidays when you get there!

One of my aunts voluntarily did a Masters in Pure Mathematics ... she didn't need it for work and afaik she didn't get any extra pay afterwards either - she just loves maths! Must be why my cousins, sisters and I all like maths too, and can do it well - we started with a positive attitude!
