Brazil sounds amazing..

Accents are great.

I agree with you, Brazilian accents is more beautiful and melodious than Portuguese one.

I have the one that electrocutes things, perfect for dealing with the stink beetle problem in Basel. I am like one of Reservoir Dogs with this thing

Enjoy the holidays when you get there!

One of my aunts voluntarily did a Masters in Pure Mathematics ... she didn't need it for work and afaik she didn't get any extra pay afterwards either - she just loves maths! Must be why my cousins, sisters and I all like maths too, and can do it well - we started with a positive attitude!
Thanks, I will. Looks like London maybe, again.

The math thing is really true, trying to overhall my attitudes, which means I gotta dig in. Will get somebody to open up that channel for me so my kid doesn't feel alone. Got a few visual math books in the UK, they are fab. This morning we had a radio math show on, probability and logic - they play sketches, a guy waiting for trams to take him to either of his 2 girlfriends or work. Lol.

Made me smile.

Kudos to your aunt. I want to meet her and people like that.

We have so much control over how much we know.

Re: I smiled because...

My daughter went to her martial art class. Arrived a bit late, disturbed a thief, who, as a result got caught and handed over to the police. Who arrived within 5 minutes.

Perp was some sixty+ year old woman. Quite sad really - taking on a martial art group.

Le livre sur les quais is a fab book fair. Talked to a couple of writers, got a few books that local readers awarded prizes to. Great place to go if you have some time this wknd.

I like that guy. He's not using only words but the entire body, especially the hands, when he talks. Also speaks with great conviction and passion (to some of you guys that looks like authoritarianism I gathered). So Italian....or Latin. ;-)

I've never heard of him either. I asked my family. They'd never heard of him.

But you've been here for at least 12yrs. Bet you've not hear of Fred Sirieix or Joey Essex either My brother's met Gino twice when he went for dinner with former colleagues at his Manchester restaurant. He mainly watches sport on tv so hadn't heard of him either. He got a right bollocking from his wife when he got home for not getting his autograph. The row quickly escalated with my sis-in-law shouting "What do you mean you've never heard of him?! You bought me his bloody recipe book for Christmas last year you piggin' idiot! shows how much notice you take!" (I swiftly made my excuses to go home )

My husband is doing German speaking exercises on Babbel.

He's just told it to eff off , followed by shouting "I'll never get that one in a million years!"

Shogun / Samurai Swords / Ikusa.

Found a copy of it for a reasonable price, waiting for it to arrive!
It arrived! All essential pieces there, although I am missing two ronin (but have 18 extra spearmen ...).

Another parcel also arrived, a nice Christmas present I ordered for my little big sister (still have to find something for my big big sister and my little little sister, and my little brother).
