I can't post the photo on here because of the 'rude words', but love this way to liven up Secret Santa using British chocolate bar wrappers

This little chap has been eating my tomatoes and chillis in the poly tunnel. I removed all the old plants a few days ago and today he popped out to say hello, or was that, “please may I have more”

We're going to an 80s theme party in Germany in a few weeks for someone's 50th. Husband has decided to go as Nigel Tufnel, he's just bought a wig and a blow up v-shaped guitar

Re: I smiled because...

My husband and I were walking our yellow lab in Zurich and all of the sudden my husband darted off with our dog, Molly. The next thing I knew/saw, there was an elderly gentleman lying in the middle of the road right by Stadelhofen. I did not see him fall but my husband did. The poor man could not get up. Thankfully, a car pulled over and two German men helped my husband get the man off the road and onto the sidewalk/pavement and some steps. I think he broke his shoulder.

While waiting for the ambulance, we really connected with the German men who stopped immediately and assisted. My sweet dog kept licking the elderly man's hand and he kept petting her. He told us he was in pain and he looked as though he was in shock.

It never ceases to amaze me how in trying to help others one can benefit. The young German guy was so knowledgeable about safety. He told me he is the last in his generation to have compulsory army training in Germany - which is why he knew protocol regarding injury/safety.

The elderly gentleman and his companion were so grateful that we waited for the ambulance to arrive and made sure they were okay.

To be of help to others and learn from others - what a great thing!

PS... The weather was so dreary and I did not want to take a long walk today but so glad we did!

Visiting a beach in Broadstairs Kent and now the season has passed dogs are allowed to run free.

About 15 different dogs - big and small running around having fun - in and out of the water -playing in the sand - Pure Joy to watch.

So do I! Although he seemed more settled and in good shape by the time the ambulance arrived. Hopefully, no bones were broken and it was just a bad shoulder bruise.

Re: I smiled because...

I hope it was just bruising, a broken shoulder is a bad injury to sustain. My husband came off his bike in London back in the early 90s, he hit a pothole covered in with gravel at the local station, went over the handlebars and broke his collarbone in 2 places. He thought he was going to have a heart attack with the pain in the ambulance as he couldn't stop hyperventilating. It never knitted together properly and now he is left lopsided and with constant pain during damp or winter weather because of the scar tissue

That sounds awful Cherub! My husband has also had shoulder reconstruction surgery owing to a rugby injury. He still struggles a bit as well...

My pup is actually scared of sand when we dropped her at the beach last summer she would try to lift her feet and look at us with a face saying ´what the heck is THAT?!´

Re: I smiled because...

Just watched this gorgeous Goldie singing the theme tune to Coronation Street. I didn't know it's a thing, and there are loads of vids of dogs singing this tune on youtube. With that and Sandgrounder's cats playing pianos, that could be a whole rainy Sunday afternoon planned.

I had a school friend back in the 70s whose dog used to howl it's head off at the Coronation Street theme lol

My last dog was always glued to One Man and His Dog and would run around the back of the tv looking for the sheep. She was also obsessed with The Horse Of The Year Show, possibly because her daily walk was past a stables.

Our symphony pulled off a crazy performance.

After-concert party did not kill me. Nor did the 3inch heels.

More concerts for the next wk.

WARNING: Quite sweary and very catchy so you might slip up and begin singing in front of the kids after a few Baileys.
