Ah! You're free to go out again, then? Must have felt good.

Re: I smiled because...

... because it was another gorgeous, warm day in the garden. Worked very hard but feel great. The Hobbies returned a couple of days ago and they have been making such a racket all day- hoping they will nest in the big pine tree in the Church grounds right in front of us.

and also because after two years of so much stress and worry - somehow today it clicked - I am not worrying anymore - and I know that I/we can cope with anything ... and will.

Got to take the most adorable dog you‘ll ever get to know (OK, every dog owner will say that, get it, but this one was completely gorgeous believe me) on a walkies today.

Even during the most terrible times, people adapt. As long as they are handling completely responsibly and informed on risks, see that the concept of solidarity can really exist.

Re: I smiled because...

We are swamped with internet school and it is pretty intense but laugh, some of the stuff is hilarious. Some colleagues and some of my kid's teachers have incredible sense of humor and share it in the worst of times. I am struggling a bit with Molière homework wishing his French was normal

I am praying with a mad smile to the tech gods that our gadgets don't die on us now

Tbh No.

She is of course following the constrictions. But we had our biggest “discussion” yet when it came to pinning her down (she’s 25, and just finishing her Masters).

Her boyfriend is a policeman covering the area of the Gold Coast (and a bit further north). He is now ordered (amongst another significant parts of the police force population) to stay at home since this morning (no home office available for obvious reasons).

So we had to “have it out” whether she should continue to use the public transport to see him or not. Had a strategy meeting in the meantime, and all sorted.

Had hoped that his had something to do with increased patrolling, but no, it’s because they have nothing to do, as no-one is out there causing trouble anymore apparently.

Just sayin’

Re: I smiled because...

Chicago's Shedd Aquarium is closed due to the pandemic... so the animal carers decided that, with no visitors around, this would be a good time for the penguins to take a little field trip.

Here are the penguins on walkabout, touring the other aquatic exhibits:

(When the world gets back to normal, if you find yourself in Chicago with time to spare, the Shedd is well worth a visit.)

They look like two elderly guys, very interested yet slightly confused, at one point frantically trying to figure out which way to find what.

Depending on how long this lasts, it could go the other way though.

Re: I smiled because...

I was able to watch my Mom's funeral via live streaming through our Church parish's FaceBook page. I know some might think it odd that I smiled, but the service was so moving and I was able to see my siblings and participate - albeit in a virtual way.

My husband came home early to watch the service with me and I had a box of tissues at my side as I assumed I would be balling my eyes out. That didn't happen as the mass/service was more a celebration of her spirit (she was such a positive person) and life! For me it was reaffirming; she lived a great life and she was ready to move on

Re: I smiled because...

I‘m really noticing the small things, like the chestnut tree just starting to bloom outside my bedroom window. Have lived here since around 15 years, and never noticed this slow development before. Going to make a time-lapse video of it to help pass the time.

My Nescafé tastes OK again - couldn‘t taste it since for around 2 weeks ending a couple of weeks ago . Almost had to consider buying a coffee machine. That and a bit of a hay-fever cough. (For understanding that, you need to be up-to-date on the symptoms of the Corona virus).

And smiled that I have taken all precautions since the early „rumors“ started (even though I was ridiculed on EF at the time )
