I forgot to count how many chocolate eggs I hid in our place to do an egg hunt at Easter, and my kids keep finding some in strange places

Re: I smiled because...

A Swiss colleague of my husband's told us he was looking for something to eat on Thursday evening and he found a Christmas pudding we'd given him, so him an his partner decided to steam it and try it.

Firstly, they couldn't remember what we'd said about flaming it before serving, so they just poured a load of Advocaat over it (looks like custard on the pic he sent lol).

Then he said they really enjoyed it, but it made them feel extremely sleepy afterwards, so OH said "how much did you eat?" and his friend replied "half each". It was for 6-8 people and full of brandy, no wonder they were falling asleep in front of the TV

What's wrong with rain? We're expecting another drought this year.

... because Carmen and Nikita are back in our meadow - lovely horses stabled for many years at our neighbours ...

and because, despite the lack of rain- the massive sycomore tree that totally hides the road has finally burst into leaf

If you want to prank your kids and are feeling particularly mean, a variant of this should do the trick

Re: I smiled because...

My son changed jobs recently. He asked at interview about paternity leave (sprog 2 due in a few weeks), and they said that they only offer 1 day, but they would review it.

They reviewed it and confirmed they could still only offer 1 day... but they'd give him five days extra leave this year to compensate.

I also smiled because with the easing of lockdown I can get my cataract surgery.

Indeed, Brexit, Trump and Covid have proved to be an amazing source of dark humour and great cartoons. Do you know 'Vigousse'? - my nephew is a cartoonist for this satirical magazine and other Swiss publications- and he is brilliant.

This time I waited for my fourth batch of dice to come out and, while the colours aren't what I expected, I like the colours. They change depending on from which angle you look at them, especially the larger ones.

Where do you get your stuff from? I just got a letter from a friend here in Europe who sent it to me on April 2.

Games are great. I just did good ol' battleship. Holidays are made for board games.

Games and ... bilingual children.

Daddy, what is catif?

Sorry son, no idea what you are talking about.

But the other day when we were ordering games, maman said we should buy 'des jeux et du catif' - lol

(des jeux éducatifs - educational games)
