Re: I smiled because...

We had eventually made it back to blighty, found an hotel room with a sea view.
And in front of the pier. So beautiful and picturesque, looking out to sea you forget there's a problem in the world.

Re: I smiled because...

After some EF member mentioned that German PET bottles have deposit on them, I threw about 15 bottles in one of their fancy machines today, only to get a receipt for 45cents. Now that did not seem worth the hassle of keeping them separately and take them back to Germany with me.

So to clear the question whether maybe most of my bottles (mainly Schweppes products) may not have deposit at all (=I'll throw them in the Swiss pet collection in future), I asked at information. The guy didn't even wait until I actually placed my question and walked off ..... to return with all my bottles. (first surprise, rofl). Then he fed them back into the machine and taught me that I apparently tossed them in too hard and too quickly after each other. (second surprise - the him doing the job again bit) and then handed me the receipt for the deposit.

WHAT a lavish way to answer a simple question.

The next thing that made me smile today was finding out, that the electric device I had ordered from amazon and delivered to a parcel-pick up station in Germay had a Swiss plug! This is the second time amazon delivered with a Swiss plug! (While Galaxus delivers all their things lately with a German one )

I'm beginning to wonder, what was it again that made me dislike the Germans back in them days? They spoil me rotten these days.

Johnathan Livingston Seagull.

About the closest I get to this book is dreaming.

Re: I smiled because...

A few weeks ago I found a mysterious screw on the floor. Did not find out where that came from.
Today I watched a video on how to make and apply table top buttons. As I wondered if my table had the same quality assembling (it doesn't ) I noticed mine was just screwed on, skewed screws every 15 centimetres. And yup, some are missing (4 in fact ) and yes, I kept the one I found back then.

I thought it was smile worthy that .... information comes to those who wait?

Re: I smiled because...

Tomorrow, I am allowed again to play fairy godmother to my neighbour's small children, by looking after them for most of the day.

And working on something , a little surprise, for my other set of fairy godkids on eastern CH shores

Love to play the 'bippity-boppety-boo' godmother and whenever I am allowed to something for those 7 young ones, my day become sunny, regardless of the real weather outside.

Re: I smiled because...

Because I'm out in my garden and one of my neighbors somewhere is playing the flute. It sounds so lovely.

And because Autumn is almost here (and it feels like it already is)...

I love Autumn.

OH has broken off on holiday for 3 weeks. Even if we don't get to anywhere beyond Basel it'll still be nice, we'll just make the best of it. Missing autumn in Scotland though, the colours and the landscape are gorgeous at this time of year, esp in the Highlands.
